The story of over 400 years of slavery cannot be told without a visit to the former slave port. This is a private tour to explore the former slave quarters and see the preserved relics at the Slave Museums. This tour affords you the opportunity to experience first-hand what really happened and how these things happened during the slave trade regime. Many people known today as Black Americans have actually traced their roots to Africa to see and write their own narratives.
Your tour will include a boat ride to the Point of No Return (Gberefu Island) where the slaves were routed through to the ships to foreign countries. During the tour, there will be a brief stop at the ‘Attenuation Well’ where slaves were made to drink magical waters that made them forget who they’re. There will also be a stopover at the beach front of the Point of No Return for a little rest and reflection.

The first point of call is the William Seriki Abass Slave Baracoon where you will pick up the history of slavery in Nigeria including the small rooms where a hundred of slaves were kept and also find out the batter prices for slaves. Aside seeing some of the relics of the slave era, you will as well visit the resting place of the Williams Seriki Abass, one of the great players during the slave era.
Badagry Slave Museum and Black History Museum
The Mobee Slave Relics Museum which holds artifacts such as chains, mouth guards and locks, and more which were used on slaves is the second place to visit. You will also be shown relics and wreckage of some items used at the time.

5.00We took this tour to see if would be educational. I learned a lot. It was very sad just listening to the info. The chain that the slaves had to wear around their neck was so heavy. The point of no return just made you imagine what those slaves went through. I recommend this tour if you are interested in history

5.00Very real experience seeing the culture in the area where there are people still living. You travel on boat to an island and are integrated in the current lifestyle while understanding what happened during the actual slave trade. The best part was just driving along the mainland and seeing the daily life in Nigeria.

2.00The museum was interesting but could be better. The first house in the city was seen nearby but has no artifacts inside. This was on the way to Benin so worth stopping by but an hour was enough. Would not take a tour from Lagos as the journey is busy and you spend most of the time in the car.

5.00The tour was expected to be heartfelf. However, the knowledge of the staff, professionalism, and level of costumer service made a good experience. We didn't just learn but were offered opportunity to see and feel from the slave's eyes. Additionally we learned about Nigerian history to understand background and context. I highly recommend this tour for adults, children, and families.

5.00This tour was so insightful.If you are looking for a firsthand experience in a deep understanding of the slave trade history, I highly recommend this tour. It's also very beautiful for someone of the dispora to return for your ancestors left the continent for the Americas. It's a true honor to be in that space and experience and see for your own eyes what they endured prior to their journey. Each guide at the site is extremely knowledgeable and pofessional, pack water, wear comfortable shoes. You'll enjoy the boat ride to the point of no return and also the option of the bike ride down or if you prefer to walk down. The roads, if you're coming in from Lagos was a very safe, it was easy to navigate all the checkpoints highly recommend this tour as a must do. Our guides, Victoria and driver Ade,were absolutely incredible..

5.00We met Victoria our tour guide, and the driver. They were both super kind and helpful during the trip. We were given an insightful tour of Badagry and the trans-Atlantic slave trade history. I would highly recommend, though the tour is slightly pricey.
