On this full-day guided tour from Siena, discover the cellars where these incredible wines age, meet the local producers, and learn about the passion that goes into making this wine. Meet your guide in front of the church of San Domenico in Siena at 9:30am and travel south to the famous wine hill of Montalcino. Enjoy a first stop at a small winery, walk along the rows of vines, explore the cellars and learn about the different barrels that can be used to make this 5-year old, prestigious wine. Enjoy an introductory tasting of the famous Rosso and Brunello di Montalcino wine and contemplate its complexities and legendary aging potential. Visit the hill town of Montalcino, the fortress where the brave soldiers of the Republic of Siena made their last stand against Florence and the town's squares and streets. Be welcomed into a family-run winery, meet its owners, winemakers or workers and take a visit around the farm before sitting down to enjoy a traditional Tuscan meal accompanied by the farm's delicious wines. Enjoy a brief visit to the mystical Abbey of Sant'Antimo, a church that was once part of a large Benedictine monastery and enjoy its peace and tranquility. Visit a third winery to deepen your understanding of the wine making processes and sit down for another tasting of this nectar of the gods before the comfortable drive back to Siena.

5.00Wow, what an incredible day! We learned so much from our guide, Mattia. He quickly led us through Italian history to properly set our day in time, then talked about how Brunello di Montalcino came to be. Mattia Then brought us to 3 quite different and delicious wine tasting experiences, including an amazing lunch in a beautiful setting! (Kisses to Paldo the dog!) We had such a wonderful time and will look forward to impressing the wine expert at our local wine store with our knowledge of this special wine!

5.00If you are interested in learning a bit about the production of Brunello wines and tasting wines from different wineries this is your tour. Our guide, Juliana was informative and personable. We went to three wineries from different geographical areas of Montecino and enjoyed a meal with one of the vitners. ( A delicious meal paired with wine.) We were also treated to the views of the spectacular Tuscan countryside. I would definitely recommend this tour to any wine lover.

5.00Absolutely wonderful tour! Would recommend to anyone! Guillermo was beyond knowledgeable about all things Tuscany/ Montalcino/ winemaking/ history of Italy and went over the top to care for us— starting the van AC early before each drive. The van was very easy and comfortable to ride in, even in the back row where we sat. Loved the family vineyards we visited— great tours, great food, great views, great wine! Since the drive was an hour from Siena, it was actually a really cool way to see more of the legendary Tuscany landscape. 10/10 recommend!

5.00William was a great guide to have for the day. He was very energetic and had a passion for sharing his knowledge about wine. Each winery was welcoming and ready for our group of 8. The lunch was delicious and all homemade or sourced locally — meats and cheeses to start, homemade pasta for the main course, and a tart for dessert. The tour was organized and timing was well thought out.

5.00From start to finish it was pure joy! Our driver and tour guide Mattia (not sure of spelling) was amazing. A former wine-maker, he was incredibly knowledgeable, but he was also funny (he told some good jokes), thoughtful (the van AC was also on when we returned to it), and helpful in every way. He made the trip 100x better. The three wineries we visited were absolutely charming, and the wines were delicious. Lunch at the home of one of the wine-makers was a highlight for sure. To be invited to their dining table and to feast on bruschetta, cheese, potatoes, pasta, bread, plus dessert and cafe was a wonderful experience. Another highlight was a short but unforgettable stop at an abbey, where we basked in the peacefulness while listening to the monks chant and sing. Now THAT’S not something you get to do every day! An hour or so to wander around Montalcino was also enjoyable. Can we talk about the scenery for a second?!? My gosh, often, it looks too beautiful to even be real! It’s a feast for the eyes and truly brings peace to mind, body, and soul just looking at it. Simply gorgeous views everywhere you look. Brunello happens to be my favorite wine and to learn more about how is it made - the love and care they put into the process - was fantastic! I will never look at a glass of Brunello or Rosso di Montalcino the same way again! Book this experience! You will NOT be sorry.
