At its height, the Cu Chi Tunnels system stretched over 250km from Ho Chi Minh City to the Cambodian border and was three levels deep. The network included innumerable trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers and kitchens.

5.00Our guide was great. He had a presentation on his ipad that he showed us the how’s and why’s of the tunnels. Very informative. It is about an hour and a half trip to the tunnels, mainly because of traffic, and this really helped to fill the time and educate us.

2.00Everyone says the tunnels are a must see, but there is no timed entry and there are MANY big groups of people at the site. They stop on the middle of the walkway to tell their stories and it creates a big jam. They suggest 4 hours for this trip, but I was done in 2! The one saving grace was our tour guide. He is a vet of the Vietnam war and was very interesting to listen to in the drive over.
