The first stop of the day is the town Hveragerði, where we have a short restroom stop. Hveragerði is about 45 min drive from Reykjavik. There are restrooms, a bakery and an exhibition about earth quakes. Consider this a short pit-stop on our way to the Golden Circle.

Gullfoss Falls

Gullfoss, is one of the most famous waterfalls in Iceland. It is powerful and tall. Through it the river Hvítá, which is a glacier river originating from Langjökull, plunges down this two step waterfall. There are a handful of viewing platforms to observe the waterfall and above Gullfoss there is Gullfoss center where there are restrooms, a cafeteria and gift shops. NOTE: The path leading all the way up to the waterfall is closed during the winter season.

My husband and I really enjoyed this tour. We saw a lot of different parts of Iceland and our tour guide was very nice, entertaining and informative. We stopped at the crater lake, got to feed the Icelandic ponies (so cute), stopped at Geysir, enjoyed the frozen Gulfoss waterfall and hiked between the North American and EurAsian tectonic plates and enjoyed stories about life in Iceland from our tour guide. Great day. It was really cold and windy early on in the day, but worth every minute!

The tour guide was great. The trip was the right length of time. We really appreciated tips on the best vantage points for the different sites. We would have found advice on icy pathways as we could have brought our crampons. All in all it was a great trip.

Our driver, Guna, was excellent. Lots of interesting information and facts as well as making sure we all knew about meeting locations and times. The tour itself was fantastic, and we really enjoyed all the stops along the way. I would recommend it!

Great tour with an amazing tour guide. Franklin was absolutely hilarious and made the tour even more better. His humor, knowledge, and history lessons were phenomenal. Lots of driving, so if you are prone to motion, sickness, bring some Dramamine!

Excellent experience! Andres is super nice, introduce attractions clearly, sometime with a sense of humour. Spent a day with Andres is the best choice for day tour.

It was an ideal trip to see the crater, waterfall and Geyser. The time was perfect at each point of interest and for lunch. Magga, our guide was superb, the amount of history that we learned from her was amazing, such a wealth off knowledge. We would definitely recommend the trip to all visitors and if you get Magga as your guide that’s even better. Everything worked like clockwork from pick up to drop off. Thank you for such a memorable day.

Highly recommend this tour with Pascale! She was so knowledgeable about the sites that were on the scheduled route. Also took the time to make a stop by a dairy farm for ice cream! An amazing day!
