On Mondays, Changdeokgung Palace is closed and you will go to Bukchon traditional Hanok Village instead
On Tuesdays, the Gyeongbokgung Palace and National Folk Museum of Korea is closed, so you will go to Changdeokgung(including secret garden) and in the afternoon you will visit Bukchon Hanok Village instead.

Jogyesa Temple
Jogyesa Buddhist Temple is the center of Zen Buddhism in Korea, and is famous for being located in the city. From the busy streets of Jongno, follow the road towards Anguk Subway Station, and you will see Jogyesa Temple. The first things you will notice at the temple are the lovely trees. These locust trees and baeksong trees in front of the Daeungjeon, the main temple building, are about 500 years old.

Keep your camera handy for the changing of the guard ceremony at Gwanghwamun Gate.

5.00Tour guide Soo-Khee was really nice. She explained everything in great detail about the palaces. Sometimes a bit too lengthy, we got to see the changing of the guards ceremony, we thought we were going to miss it as it was pouring down with rain but luckily the sun came out just at the right time. The day was lovely but a lot of walking.

5.00Junie was a great tour guide! We were able to see a good number of different places, for just the right amount of time apiece, and Junie added great commentary at each of them. She also struck a good balance between the ancient history of the Korean peninsula and the more recent past, neither ignoring the issues of the last 80 years nor focusing the entire tour on them. Would recommend this tour for a one-day greatest hits of Seoul!

4.00Wish I waited a little longer before booking the tour as tour price drop almost 20% as I checked the day before the tour (unfortunately no refund or price adjustment within 24 hrs). Any way, as the discount price reflect, this tour is a very brief general tour that covered 2 main palaces, 2 shopping streets and 1 museum all within 20 mins of walking distance near city hall downtown area. In addition, you will be asked to listen into a 30mins Gingsen sales talk (no hard sales but waste of time to me). Tour guide Mr. Young is nice with good English and did share about 15mins of background at each site before free time to take pictures.
