  When we realized what we wanted to see in Capri in a day we decided that a tour was the ONLY option. Our guide Teresa was amazing and was so helpful in saving us time so we could enjoy every moment on Capri. The chair lift to Mt Solaro is a must! Unfortunately the Blue Grotto was closed the day we visited but honestly the boat trip around the island to see the Red, White and Green Grottos as well as the Faraglioni Islands MORE than made up for it and was probably even a better option.   Our guide, Michele, was absolutely fantastic. He orchestrated our events perfectly, strategically, so we had no line-waiting at all. He provided useful info to get the most out of our day. Although we did not get into the blue grotto, due to high seas, the Plan B boat ride around the island was beautiful. This was one of our favorite excursions in Italy.

  Our tour of Capri was both beautiful, and because of the weather, somewhat disappointing. We had hoped to visit the Blue Grotto, but it was closed to tourists that day. And by the time the weather cleared enough to ride the chair lift up to the top of Monte Solano in Anacapri, the lines were so long that we did not have enough time before rejoining our tour group. NOW, this is not to say that everything was disappointing. The island is absolutely gorgeous. In lieu of the Blue Grotto, we were able to go on a boat tour around the island where we saw several very interesting villas and structures perched on the sides of the mountains. Most rewarding though was seeing areas of the most awesome blue waters in cavelike areas around the base of the island. I feel that these amazing blue colors were quite similar to those we would have experienced in the Blue Grotto. A couple of times our boat captain would back up into the cave areas … I think perhaps to give us a small inkling of what it might have been like in the Blue Grotto. All in all, this was an enjoyable and beautiful tour, proving that sometimes disappointments can result in unexpected rewards.

• Best way to explore Capri in a day

  Tiziana was the best tour guide. She is very knowlegable about Capri, and was determined to give us the best experience. Unfortunately the weather was not the best in the morning and she rearranged the whole day on a whim so we could make the most of it. The experience was the perfect mix of guided tours and free time. Throughout our jam packed day she reminded everyone to be mindful to be back at the meeting point on time, and made sure we were able to get ahead of the crowds. Don't be the person coming back late and ruining the experience for others. We took the 8:35 ferry there and a 16:30 ferry back. Would highly recommend if you only have a day to explore Capri, and don't want to deal with the hassle of coordinating yourself. I would not book this tour if you are set on soley going to the blue grotto. Most times the grotto is not open due to choppy seas so you should check conditions the morning of, and then book. There was a plan B arranged for us which was a boat tour around Capri including getting upclose to Faraglioni which was a great alternative.

  Listen to the tour guide, Paula was excellent and being a native of Capri knew the best times to go to each of the hot spots .

  We had a fantastic time on this tour! Teresa was absolutely wonderful and made our trip from Naples to Capri feel seamless and stress-free from start to finish. One of the highlights was being able to visit the Blue Grotto, which we learned had only been accessible 3 of the previous 7 days due to conditions. Even better, we entered by land and had virtually no wait at all — especially impressive after hearing that lines can sometimes last 1–2 hours. We also loved taking the chairlift to the top of the island, seeing the goats, and enjoying the incredible views and photo opportunities. Teresa gave us plenty of time to explore both Anacapri and Capri, and the entire day was very well organized. At the end of the tour, we decided to add the optional boat tour around the island, and it was absolutely worth the extra 25 euros! We learned so much more about Capri, saw the Green Grotto and other beautiful sites along the coastline, and it ended the day perfectly. Highly recommend this experience and especially Teresa as a guide!

• Exciting but challenging

  It might be physically challenging, especially for older people. But it's very exciting experience, it will be remembered.
