This excursion is an excellent opportunity to observe a large amount of biodiversity since 87 percent of the fauna is active at night, confident in the poor visibility that darkness offers them.

In a normal visit there is the possibility of observing; two-toed sloths, nine-banded armadillo, owls, rain frogs and on some occasions we can observe a kinkajou or a green palm viper in addition to a large number of very interesting insects such as, for example, a stick insect, leaf insect; Sometimes we can find scorpions, tarantulas and much more.

Throughout the tour you will be accompanied by a naturalist guide ready to share with visitors many of the secrets of the forest.

Rafael was very skilled in finding all sorts of night creatures. We had a great time and saw so many interesting animals including sloth, viper snake, stick bugs, toucans, tarantula, and others. Highly recommend.

We did the night wildlife tour with Rafael. We enjoyed it very much. We saw lots of insects, birds and 2 sloths. It is amazing how he finds wildlife in the dark. Thanks to Rafael for the nighttime adventure.

This is a cloud forest experience, cool and wet. Dress appropriately. We were impressed with our guide, Rafael - his knowledge of the environment, and his ability to spot items of interest, e.g., flowers, insects, frogs, snakes, and birds had us entranced.

Good experience with Rafale the guide. It was just the two of us with him, which was great, but there were plenty of other groups out at the same time so sometimes it felt a bit crowded. Good to get away from the other groups. We saw a wide variety of reptiles, insects and birds, the latter sleeping in the trees. The classic red eyed frog was a highlight. A night tour is a must in Costa Rica. Don’t forget that alongside the cost of the tour, you have to pay to enter the park (US$15 per person).
Rafael is an excellent guide!

We saw a few exotic insects, birds in their natural habitant. Eg, we saw a spider in its hole, a green viper curled up, a yellow field snake, a toucan, and even a red eye field frog. Our guide Rafael was excellent in explaining everything to us and he is excellent in taking photo / video for us in his telescope. He

To us city people, seeing so many little and moderately size living things at night (insects, snakes, spiders, birds, frogs, butterflies) was a great experience. The guide Rafael Rojos was especially helpful to show us how to take close-up’s through his telescope. Over 2 hours of walking in the dark, with enough flash lights to walk safely up and down this Refuge. A must-see experience when visiting this part of Costa Rico.

The tour where we saw the most animals!! Rafa taught us animals that were hidden and that without him it would have been impossible to see them. We were infected by his love of nature and good enthusiasm. The whole time he volunteered to take pictures through the telescope and they looked like they were taken from the National Geographic. The tour is easy and very pleasant. 1000/10 the experience. Super recommended.
