Visit ONLY ALL PRIVATE, small production wineries and estate vineyards not open to the general public. SHARED/ GROUP WINE TOUR (max 6-7 guests) Our tour provides exclusive access to premium estate vineyards, barrel rooms, and the people and stories behind the wine. Tastings in a seated and reserved location with a dedicated host. Guests are often the only ones at each of the locations we visit for an EXCLUSIVE EXPERIECE We do not visit public, standing bar, “walk-in” commercial wineries or tasting rooms. Our premium tour caters to guests serious about quality wine and unique experiences that are often hard to find on your own. Select locations are based solely on top-tier, quality wines AND the quality of the unique experience. Tours are always customized based on wine preferences. Our premium list of locations are some of region’s best and their wines often receive the highest scores in Santa Barbara County. Most locations are not open to the general public for a more intimate and private experience. 5.00My husband Brian and I did the shared group wine tour yesterday and it was absolutely amazing. The wineries we saw, stories we heard and wine we tasted was exceptional. This is a wonderful experience and we highly recommend. Special thank you to our sommelier Carlos who made the whole day even more special. He shared history about Santa Barbara throughout the ride up to wine country and made sure we were taken care of the entire day. He even provided a list of recommendations for food and drink in the area. Carlos truly went above and beyond and we are so thankful for the experience!

5.00Sustainable Wine Tours was brilliant at all stages - the pick up in a Mercedes, the explanation of the OWNERS/WINEMAKERS we would be privately meeting with at Marbeso, Dafoe and Happy Canyon Wineries . This is a once in a lifetime experience. Do not think this is just another wine tasting - you get to ask the winemakers questions. Every wine owner on this tour was passionate about their wine, how they make it and why they continue with it. Every one had a very interesting personality. I learned so much and was able to taste so much delicious wine. I had no idea that some wineries blend grapes, some do not own land but buy grapes and make exceptional wine. The lunch provided was delicious. Being in my fifties, I have travelled often but never have I ever gotten so much out of a tour of any kind. My husband has been to Bordeaux and is a wine collector - me I enjoy wine a little. It doesn’t matter on this tour, everyone will get lots out of this. Scott was fabulous explaining everything throughout the day. It was a remarkable day. On the return drive back, we ended up stuck in traffic due to an accident but Scott reversed and knew a different route back. Had we not had Scott’s experience we would have been stuck on this tight road for hours. You truly get what you pay for and then some…. The toughest decision you leave with is which wines to buy/ which wine clubs to join. If you can’t do this tour or don’t live near by, check out the various websites of the wineries or contact them - they ship around the US. They would all make delicious drinking/ gifts/ sharing opportunities and start great conversations with wine enthusiasts. If you just want the run of the mill tour - to be dropped off in the parking lot of a winery and picked up later this tour is not for you. If you want exceptional then book this tour!!! Cheers

5.00The tour for our group of 16 was lovely. Tour guides took into consideration our request to spend less time driving - so the three stops were close together. the small batch family owned wineries we visited were very special and we learned their personal stories. the tour guides kept us very hydrated with complimentary water and the provided lunch was exceptional. They even went out of the way to provide non-alcoholic beer for our one guest who didn't drink. All in all, a successful tour!

5.00Not your typical wine tour! This locally owned, sustainable experience takes you behind the scenes into clean winemaking—not big manufacturing. We were able to visit three wineries - each special in their own way. Scott was an excellent guide, and his attention to detail was second to none. Meeting the passionate owners of the wineries made it truly special. No pressure to buy, customizable wine club selections, plus a delicious lunch and charcuterie snack. Don’t miss this intimate, one-of-a-kind experience!

5.00Scott was very friendly and accommodating. The vineyards we visited were great and not typical. The owners were small businesses and they were very proud of their wines. We highly recommend this tour to the novice or experienced wine taster.

5.00I am giving this a 10 out of 5. Double terrific. Karina was beyond superb. We love tasting wine but have never been to Santa Barbara. We had high expectations but they were greatly exceeded! We had three terrific venues and each was uniquely different and all tailored to our preferences. The drive through the wineries was fabulous. The wine tastings were absolutely amazing. Highly highly highly recommend. When we come back we will certainly use Sustainable wines and requests Karina. A truly memorable day.

5.00Incredible experience with a private guide taking us in a personal Mercedes van. Took us to three small family run vineyards where we got personal tastings of different varietals. We were given the opportunity to purchase wines not typically available outside the wineries. Scott was an excellent guide and gave us lots of great information with a personal touch! Definitely a must!

5.00We really enjoyed our tour, Karina was so knowledgeable and passionate about wine and creating a good time! I was impressed with how thorough she was in constantly filling up water bottles to make sure we were properly hydrated so that everyone felt good the whole time. The tour included a nice variety of wine makers to experience highlights of the region.
