  Zein did an incredible job chasing the northern lights. The lights did not disappoint. I have heard that some tours go out and never see them but that was not our experience at all. We saw all the lights, then we had a campfire and Zein told us some of the history of the country and the science behind the lights. We even got to see a proposal…she said yes! It was a magical night for all.

  Tour guide Zein is very good and professional, he shared a lot of northern light information with us, taking good care of us and capture great photos. And i like the campfire experience.

  the whole tour took 9 hours and we were travelling for about 8 trying to find the lights. The driver tried his best but the group felt it was far too long and experience would have shown there was no chance on this particular evening. The mini bus was quite old and uncomfortable , especially sitting near the draft door. fortunately were were able to see them on a boat cruise later in the week.

  This was an amazing experience. They picked us up from our accommodation in Alarmvegen in a comfortable van. The guide (whose name I forget but he was great) explained that we were going to a lookout spot that looked good, but that we might change course depending on the clouds, forecast, etc. He had a headset and was watching a bunch of weather data on his phone so who knows, but it felt legit lol. The sky in Tromsø was completely overcast earlier but by the time we got to the spot it was very clear. It was VERY cold but he built a fire, gave us hot chocolate and marshmallows, and it was lovely. Highly recommend: - Bring hand warmers. You'll have your hands out of your gloves a lot to take pictures. We had the kind where you snap the metal thing inside and they were a lifesaver. - They do provide body suits but we didn't need them. It was only about -1 C. - Choose a time when there's less of a moon. The moonlight makes the aurora quite grey to the naked eye (but the photos still look amazing). We did get one strong one where we could see all the colors even with the full moon though, so if you've already booked during full moon, don't worry! You'll still see them! - Genuinely, don't lose hope if the weather looks awful. Obviously it's never guaranteed, but the sky at the lookout point was completely clear while Tromsø was overcast, and it was only 1.5 hours drive away. - Do eat dinner first. - We saw the large bus tours and even though this one is a lot more expensive, I'm glad we did it. There were busses at the same spot, but we got the fire and our own area where it was just such a stunning experience. I was agonizing over the cost, and to be fair I felt better about it after we saw some amazing aurora, but even the baseline experience was really nice.

  Jinyar was great and really took care of us-sorting us out with thermal suits, driving us around, taking loads of photos and explaining all about the northern lights and how different cultures have interpreted them. It was great to be in such a small group. We ended on a snow covered beach toasting marshmallows and corn over a fire, drinking hot chocolate and watching the sky as the aurora burst out and danced in green and yellow. It was a truly magical experience.

  Amazing experience! Our guide took us to two places- the second after we had already seen some lights- so we could get the full experience! Hot chocolate and marshmallows, and we all had a laugh about the frozen corn that we tried to thaw. Both guides helped make this a warm, lovely memory, filled with moments that we will remember years from now. Thank you for giving us an experience that we will reminisce about fondly!

  We had a fantastic experience with Jinyar. Even though the forecast was cloudy with weak activity, he worked hard to make sure we made great memories. He was constantly watching the radars and picked spots where we had the best chance. When there were peaks of the lights, he was quick to point them out and took amazing pictures so we would have those memories forever. He was knowledgeable in explaining things, made a warm and inviting fire, and helped make sure the group was at ease. Thank you!

  If you are coming to Tromsø and you haven’t booked a Northern Lights experience yet, book this one! The tour company was very attentive to our requirements, making sure to pick us up somewhere that suited us and also messaging us before the pickup to say that fhe lights were already visible in Tromsø. The size of the minibus allows the guide to take you to quiet places with no light pollution that are perfect for capturing the Northern Lights. Our guide Jinyar pointed out the lights as we drove, and quickly took an opportunity to stop a little way away from the main road and took plenty of photographs of everyone under the night sky, taking care as well to watch for vehicles and ensure we were all safe while out of the minibus. We drove on and stopped again down a side road, in an area by a frozen lake that was lit only by the moon. The lights were very kind to us and put on a good show. Jinyar’s excitement was infectious. After many more photos, Jinyar made a fire and we all sat down for a hot drink and roasted marshmallows. It was an intimate setting and we knitted together well as a group. Another family stopped to watch the lights from the shore of the lake and Jinyar took time out to make sure they stayed safe near the lake. Afterwards we were dropped off at our apartment in Tromsdalen. The journey in the minibus was very comfortable and relaxing. The photos were available the next day, using a QR code provided by the tour company. They are included in the price of the tour.

  What a walk! What a guide. What an experience! We were completely blown off the track as we say in Bergen. We traveled as a family from Bergen to experience the northern lights, and were aware that we wanted a guide with high professional competence – also in the field of photography. The choice therefore fell on Alshemal, and it turned out to be perfect. The guide had originally planned one route, but when he understood our strong photo interest, he adjusted the layout along the way and made it possible for an entirely unique experience. It testifies to both flexibility, experience and genuine commitment to its guests. The evening offered spectacular northern lights, much jubilation along the way, barbecue in the wild and an atmosphere that was simply magical. The service was first-class from start to finish, and we experienced that this company really goes further than usual.
