Start the day off with an exciting 45-minute speed boat ride to the breathtaking beauty of Angthong Marine Park. Angthong translates as 'golden bowl', occupies almost 250 sq km and includes 50 sq km of surreal limestone islands and karst topography, which rise from the sea. All of the 42 islands are uninhabited and undeveloped except for one. This island, Koh Paluay, is inhabited by sea-gypsies who still earn a living from fishing. The Marine Park is famous for its natural beauty untouched by development. Spend the day island-hopping through the archipelago, visiting the park's principal islands, and exploring their natural caves and stunning rock formations by kayak. On Koh Mae Ko, you can hike up to the top with a spectacular view over the emerald saltwater lake called Thale Nai which is connected with the sea through underwater caves. A trail that takes 20 minutes to walk leads from a nearby beach to the viewpoint over the lake. At mid-day, enjoy a delicious Thai style buffet lunch at the beach of Woa Ta Lab, and spend the afternoon sunbathing or simply relaxing on the endless white sand beaches of the islands. Amazing views from the climb up the hill. Take enough water, and take your time. It's a lot of steps in the heat. Time for a swim to cool down at the bottom before heading off on the boat again. Kayaking was short in time but adequate for a taste of it. Snorkeling at the next stop was great. Clear water, lots of different fish. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Water and soft drinks available throughout the trip. Lunch was delicious.

We took this trip on a day when the sea was not at its flattest, meaning a bumpy ride and a few on the trip struggled with sickness. One angry customer threatened a mutiny and several others on the trip took his cue to be ultra aggressive towards the boat crew when the canopy was left open and we got more than a bit wet! A genuine mistake as we transferred from one spot to the next. But I unacceptable behaviour and quite embarrassing that all this started due to a slight sea swell and the original leader of the mutiny was upset at getting wet, claiming he rides speed boats every week and had never gotten wet, ever!! Not sure I’ve ever met a seamen that’s never gotten wet and is afraid of 1m waves! This led to both my kids being very frightened and scared of the man that rides the dry seas. Anyway, once this tough guy got his little tantrum out the way, we had a lovely trip led by Skye and the team. Ang Thong is a beautiful group of islands and this trip is worth the 1hr trip across the sea from Koh Samui. The islands were a clear inspiration for the Alex Sutherland novel, the Beach, and parts of the islands were used in the movie of the same title - Emerald Lake can be seen from a short hike on this trip. On the main island, I’d also recommend you take the trip to the top viewpoint. It’s an hours walk in total, tough on a hot day but the views are spectacular just make sure to take water.

DREADFUL! To the story: Ever since I can think of Thailand, I have dreamed of this trip. As fate would have it, I got sick before this trip. Better said, I had diarrhoea, so if it had been a cough, a sore throat or anything else, I would have taken part in the trip anyway. However, I had to rely on a toilet and this could not assure me the tour that they had one. (You certainly don't have any, three days earlier I was also on a tour which had no toilet). Because of this, I got up at 5:00 (!!) on the day of departure to take my medicine again, but realized relatively quickly that it does not end. Then I called the organizers that they didn't have to pick me up and shouldn't prepare anything for me. Of course, there was never a call back. Since I have already assumed this, I have sent them everything in writing. THREE hours later (around 8:00 a.m. when the pick-up started) a reply came back from the organizer explaining why I let you know so late. Neither an enquiry into my health, a thanks for getting up early on my part, nor any other nice words were spoken. I've never seen such heartless people! They will not refund me anything, as 500THB per person for breakfast and the reserved seats have already been paid (we were two people). Aha... Breakfast is a tea, a coffee, some banana and apple and with luck a small pastry. It is hard to imagine that this costs over 10€ in Thailand (mind you for ALL boats together on the pier, so about 50 people minimum). Since they have now "spent" 1000THB on the two of us (not even 29€), they will unfortunately not pay me back any money. I paid 120€ and told them IN ADVANCE I would only take back 50% voluntarily. 120€ minus 29€ for breakfast and places would be 90€ where there are left. Unfortunately, the bill doesn't quite work (well, of course it does for the organizer). ZIPPERS without end! I took a screenshot of the text of the organizer and myself for you as proof for all of you! THERE ARE ENOUGH OTHER ORGANIZERS, GO TO THEM!

Great day, speedboat was fun, although choppy on way back but it didn’t seem to bother anyone. Lunch was nice and plenty of water supplied all day. Day was organised well, staff friendly.

Covered lots of beaches. I signed up for a longtail boat tour of 4 islands and ended up on a speed boat tour of 6 islands....don't ask... As a result, it ended up being a very full day being tossed off one boat and put onto another. I actually visited one island twice. Once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Completely different experience each time because the tide was in in the morning and out in the afternoon. Very cool and lots of fun.

We chose the operator Insea to visit the Anthong National Park. Everything was well organized during the day, the pace is strong, you have to know. Snorkling is not very long, and the water is a bit cloudy due to the world, as it is a very sought after spot. The luch is nice, simple but good. The boat is comfortable inside, it shakes a little more outside. Provide sunscreen. Water at will on the boat. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Be careful the day costs 2200 bats normally, plus 300 for entry to the park. We found a small agency at 1500 bats +3 to b for the park. In conclusion, we had a great day, to advise for any public, young, children and senior 'mobiles' came well.

The driver picked us up at 0803 and drove us to the pier. A light breakfast was served while tour guides devided us into different groups. Took a little while, but in the amazing weather we didn't mind at all. The breakfast was croissants and fruits, juice, coffee and tea. Simple, but perfect if you get seasick. We were lucky to have the most amazing tour guide, Ani, and his crew that took good care of us. The weather was amazing, so the water was crystal clear - and our first time snorkeling was super fun! The hike to see the saltwater lake was steap and sweaty, but totally worth the view! Would also recommend that you walk the stairs all the way down to the lake - it's gorgeous! The lunchbuffet was tasty, with rice, curry, salad and fruits. They kept us well hydrated during the day. You could choose between kajakking, hiking or chilling on the beach after lunch. Ani changed our last destination to the most beautiful, quiet beach! Incredibly beautiful. Here you could also join him for a hike, or just enjoy life at the beach! We totally recommend! 10/10

The crew was great, and we had a great trip. It is obvious that the owner has lost sight of the costumer, and is after the all mighty dollar. The boats max capacity is 75, we had 74. In order for the boat to seat 75 the seating must be split. 10 people up front in the elements, and 65 in the rear. We took the cruise at the beginning of the season, so the weather is unpredictable. With 74 people on the boat, we had to over crowd the back to make room when the weather turned. Every service portion was great, the crew was amazing. Also I have a suggestion for the people that organize these tours. The islands have a lot of trash on them. If you took a day and did prices to cover only operational costs, with the customer understanding that they were going out to Coleman up the sites. I've seen this done a few places, and the turnout is suprising. I understand this seems lofty and idealistic, but it was just a thought. I know I would go.
