Our gear kit includes the following: 7mm wetsuit mask and snorkel 7mm dive gloves 7mm dive booties dive hood flippers Our experienced guides will assist all guests to make sure they are able to don the suits. Once everyone is properly suited up and outfitted, we will all hop in the Snorkelmobile and drive to one of our two dive sites. At the dive site, we will walk down into the water over a rocky shore. Both dive sites have relatively easy, walk-in entry, but will require walking over rocks. Once in the water, our knowledgable guides will swim with you, using a foamy surfboard in case anyone needs to rest or has any trouble. Our guide will also help point out wildlife. After 40-60 minutes in the water, we will all gather onshore and dry off. Afterwards we will drop our guests off downtown for their next adventure. If you are on a cruise, we will work with you to make sure you don’t miss your departure.

5.00so i am eleven and went with my dad. we have snorkeled in hawaii before but not with a tour guide. the instructor was super nice and very helpful the whole time. once we got in the water it was super cold which was expected because it’s the ocean in alaska. we saw really cool animals like starfish and little jellyfish, and even though it was my first time really snorkeling it was still a blast! it was really cold however so halfway through i swam back while the rest of the group kept looking at the animals. Would definitely recommend however just be prepared to be chilly. ☺️😋😉

5.00It was an awesome experience. The wet suits kept your warm. The sea life was amazing. Even in the choppy water, we seen great things. The wet suit kept you afloat. How fun it was to say you snorkeled in Alaska.

5.00This was a magical experience. Because our group was so small, we had a 2:1 visitor to guide ratio which allowed for plenty of time in the water. They took us out into the kelp forest and to a rocky area just past that since we were at low tide. We got to see things I’ve only ever dreamed of seeing with my own eyes! I will definitely be doing this excursion again!

5.00Great experience to try whenever you have 3 hours available whether you're on a cruise or just looking for something new. Staff was very friendly and Alyssa was incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife we saw. This is a small independent operator, so don't expect a fancy showroom or anything. This is an energetic and sometimes intense experience!

5.00Great Unique Experience!!! This was such a great thing to try. We’ve snorkeled in the tropical areas. This is a different ecosystem. Really cool! Did not feel cold in the water. The girls are super friendly. Definitely recommend. Watch out for kelp monsters. 😂

5.00Selkie Snorkels was awesome! We were a little unsure of how cold we would be, but as others have said before, the wetsuits they provide really do keep you warm. They also provided warm water for your hands directly after the snorkel, and hot beverages at their tour headquarters. We got to see a lot of local underwater wildlife. So if you’re feeling adventurous, don’t hesitate to book a tour! The tour was good at communicating meeting times and location. Hannah was our guide and Lee was our guide in training. Thanks again for the great experience!

5.00I'm from Arizona and was intimidated by the 46 degree water but with the wet suit it was totally manageable. Total time in the water is about an hour which was perfect for seeing sea life especially lots of starfish and giant kelp. Hannah and Lee were great guides and I'd recommend Selkie Snorkels to anyone visiting Sitka.
Do it! You'll be warm, promise!

5.00We had a fantastic time! I was afraid that I would be too cold to enjoy myself, as I despise cold water. But the wetsuit did an amazing job of keeping me warm. Our tour guide was wonderful (sorry I can't remember his name) and made sure to bring to our attention interesting things. The group was very small (only 3 people) as it was the end of the season, so we got even more attention. Advice: Take a swimsuit. If you have a full-face snorkel, leave it at home, as it won't work with the wetsuit (there is a head covering). I would absolutely recommend this. I got to snorkel in Alaska! Oh, and he gave me a beautiful abalone shell that he had found.
Don’t be afraid of the cold- do it!

5.00It was amazing! I highly recommend for nature lovers. A very different experience than my home state of Florida. The guides Hannah and Andrew were great.
