  My snorkeling excursion around Moorea was the highlight of my visit to French Polynesia. Our guide, Alex, made the day extraordinary. He was warm, flexible and incredibly accommodating—adjusting the pace and route based on our group’s abilities and comfort levels. He was punctual and kept us on schedule while still allowing plenty of time at each stop. The trip began with a very easy introduction to snorkeling. Alex towed us slowly behind his boat while we hung onto a rope, giving everyone a chance to get comfortable with the gear and start enjoying the underwater scenery. Our next stop was the famous sandbar where stingrays and reef sharks congregate. Alex was meticulous about safety. He explained how to interact with the marine life: the stingrays are curious and love to be petted, while the reef sharks might come close but you shouldn’t reach out to touch them. His guidance and calm demeanor made everyone feel at ease, and we were able to enjoy the thrill of seeing these animals up close without any anxiety. Following the sandbar, Alex provided us with a snorkel loop to explore on our own. It was a great mix of independence and structure, letting us discover the reef at our own pace while knowing exactly where to go. The final part of the tour was a secluded, tranquil coral garden. Alex led us through a maze of vibrant corals, pointing out unique species and sharing his knowledge of the ecosystem. There were no crowds—just our small group and the incredible underwater world. This was by far the best snorkeling I’ve ever done. Alex’s professionalism, friendliness and adaptability made all the difference. I can’t recommend this tour enough to anyone visiting Moorea!

• Exceptional snorkeling tour!

  We went on Alex’s 3-hour snorkeling tour and what a fabulous experience! After a tour of waters full of sea turtles and eagle rays, he took us to a sand bar where we could get up close to very friendly stingrays and beautiful black-tipped reef sharks that kept a respectful distance while allowing us to see them. Next were two snorkeling spots to see colorful coral and fish. Alex was an informative and fun guide. The snorkeling gear he provided was good quality. He treated us to homemade passion fruit juice (with rum, if desired) and snacks for our return trip to where we started out. All in all, a great tour for anyone who wants a thoughtfully curated small group snorkel tour experience.

  As someone fortunate enough to have snorkeled in the Caribbean, Hawaii, Philippines and Fiji, this unique experience was one of the best experiences because: Only 5 guests (6 max) Alex is the owner operator who has excellent English and is very welcoming, knowledgeable and passionate about the environment. We went to 3 different spots and saw hardly anyone else (it is the off season but we did see many bigger excursions but Alex knew how to avoid him His smaller but well equipped boat could take us to places the larger boats could not His snorkel gear is high quality He treated us to a nice rum punch afterwords and some snacks.

  The best excursion my brother and I have had on our Tahiti trip. Not only were the sites chosen by Alex, we were basically the only ones there. The information passed on to us but Alex was amazing. I cannot say enough positive things about him! Now I see why he has a perfect score, it is well deserved. The service was expectable and the final touch with a rum drink with persimmon rum punch harvested from his garden and some snacks made the day complete. This tour is a MUST DO when in Moorea but it’s got to be with him. Thank you Alex for a memorable experience!

  Alex takes you to spots away from large tour boats. He doesn’t rush and allows the people to take their own time. We had a fantastic time. Ps. His dogs are adorable

  We had a blast snorkeling with Alex while on our honeymoon. He’s knowledgeable of the water and respectful of everyone’s skill level on the boat. We have a lot of snorkeling experience and brought our own gear, but he also brings a ton of equipment you can use and flotation devices for people less comfortable with swimming. He took us to four spots with beautiful coral, fish, and various marine life throughout, plus we even got the chance to see several turtles which was on our snorkeling bucket list. Very affordable and worth the time if you are looking for a local snorkeling guide while visiting Moorea- he knows the best spots and helps you avoid the major crowds.

  My husband and I were here for our honeymoon and booked the tour with Alex from a friends recommendation. The tour was fantastic and Alex was so welcoming. He took us to the best snorkeling I’ve ever done and we were often the only boat there. The tour only allowing 6 people is also great. I would do this tour again!
