• Great day on Daymaniyat Island but Expect Chaos on the Docks before embarking!

  We had a great time snorkeling and beach combing on Daymaniyat Island. The snorkeling was good, water visibility was not the best but the sea life was abundant and saw several turtles. The beaches are beautiful and well worth the 30 minute boat ride to and from the islands. The down side is the disorganization at the boat docks trying to find the right tour group. We were booked with Pearl Daymaniyat, but there are at least 5-6 tour groups that operate from the same dock. When you arrive at the designated location you are in a crowd of about a hundred tourist and no signs to tell you where to be. There are two docks with a dozen boats all trying to land, disembark morning passengers and embark afternoon passengers. There is no one on the dock telling people where to go and you have to wait for someone on the boats to get off and alert people to which tour group is there. The trick is to know which tour group you are booked with and look for their boat(s). Once you find the right tour group boat, go to that dock and find the tour group leader (usually wearing a t-shirt with the tour group name on it) to check in. It was chaos at the docks with everyone looking for their tour group. In the end we found our group and got on the right boat!

  Wonderful experience, thank you to our guide Arif to took extra care of everyone. We saw turtles, and many fish while snorkeling.

  The experience with the turtles was out of this world, we saw so many , but that was luck on our part and being experienced snorkelers and good in the water, others on our tour didn’t see much. The boat tour- the place is hard to find and expensive to get to by taxi ( choose a tour with pickup if you can) we arrived early and got told a plane was delayed and the tour would start 1.5 hours later, but were offered to go to the island with the setup crew and get an extra hour snorkeling in, that was much appreciated. When the tour eventually arrived the boat seemed a little overloaded and for the amount of different skill levels on the tour everything from experienced divers to first time divers, children, snorkelers with and without experience there was a lack of guides and guidance, the guides did their best but were busy with the divers. There was no safety briefing at all , no snorkeling instructions for the inexperienced ones and other than pointing at the bay and saying it’s good for turtles, you had to know where to go to get the outstanding wildlife experience we encountered

  Honestly a really amazing tour! Behnaz was a really great instructor took us to really amazing spots. Definitely would recommend if you are in Oman and planning to Snorkel. Thank you to the team again and definitely will be coming back again

  My 6-year old and I traveled to Oman and I wanted to do something fun with him so I booked this trip to the island. What an incredible experience to swim with so many turtles! The staff was super friendly. I strongly recommend this tour. PS: I was worried about not finding transportation back to the hotel from the port and I booked a round trip. But there were many taxis waiting for tourists at the end of the tour. Just negotiate the price with one of them. It will be cheaper than pre booking a round trip. Have fun!
