Joining this subarctic adventure and driving a snowmobile over Europe’s biggest glacier, will be one of the most exciting experiences you will ever participate in.
Along with an exciting adventure, you will also experience an unbelievable view over the glacier.
About halfway through the tour, we’ll stop and you can take pictures and peacefully enjoy the scenery.
Our guides are informative and entertaining and will tell you facts about the area and the glacier.
A valid driver’s license is required to operate the snowmobile.
Participants combined weight on one snowmobile MUST be 180kg / 390lbs or less. If your combined weight exceeds 180kg / 390lbs you need to book single snowmobiles.
The standard version of our snowmobile tour has two persons riding on one snowmobile.
However, if you are travelling solo or in an odd number group 1, 3, 5, etc., you need to book at least one solo rider.
Additional cost for 1 x solo rider is 10.000 ISK - paid at the base camp

5.00Had a nice and educational morning. The guide took all the time to explain everything calmly and clearly. The ride with the special big-wheel bus up was more challenging than expected. The weather also cooperated enormously.

5.00I was traveling in Iceland with my son, what an amazing experience! They took charge at our arrival, no time wasting it was well planned. We drove up the mountain with a monster truck, we felt safe as the driver was experienced (sorry I don't remember the guide's name!). Same with the snowmobile, the guide was calm, confident and gave us clear instructions. We didn't feel cold, the equipment was perfect. We have snowmobiles at home, we can tell that their machines were new and well maintained. I would definitely recommend to friends and family. Thank you for that memorable day!

5.00Great Experience! There is a 35 minutes bumpy ride up to the glacier, so if you get motion sickness you might want to take something. The guide was super nice and it’s a once in a lifetime experience. It’s worth the money. We went the end of May and it was fairly warm.

5.00Stefan and team gave us an experience of a lifetime. Snowmobiling on the Vatnajokull glacier was one of the best travel days that our family of 4 had ever had. An excursion not to be missed if you are travelling in the area. Just amazing!

5.00The weather certainly helped (sun and no wind!), but the experience was unforgettable. Just the sound of sledging on the snow, white everywhere and an endless horizon... beautiful. Very nice guide, provided us with all the necessary information and was very helpful.

5.00We had an unforgettable afternoon touring the Vatnajokull glacier on snowmobiles in April. We were lucky to have beautiful weather, as well as a very small group. The tour begins with an exciting drive in a van-style super jeep up into the mountains - which itself is a fun and exciting adventure. The landscape is an entirely different experience from what can be seen from the road or hiking on foot (without some serious trekking). We made our way to the snowmobiles that were parked high up in the mountain, learned how to drive them, and then we were off into one of the most breathtaking landscapes we've ever seen - with plenty of time actually riding the snowmobiles (which is not always the case with tours like this). We rode the snowmobiles to about 1100 meters, taking turns driving as we opted for a single sled for two of us. This was an awe-inspiring tour. Our guide Mike was knowledgeable, professional, experienced and willingly shared his love for Iceland as well as the other-worldly landscape that is Vatnajokull. Glacier tours is a small company, with new well-maintained equipment and gear. If you are considering a snowmobile glacier tour - we 1000% recommend this one!

5.00Otherworldly experience with known around, but our small group in a lunar landscape. Super jeeps up to the snowmobiles were a great start to. an interesting and enjoyable trip into a desolate and different place. Enjoyable tour guide guides, great gear, and a small group. Would highly recommend.
