This is a winter walking tour and is your perfect day out to start enjoy the snow and the colder season.

The snowshoes are included and provided by us together with walking poles You must have hiking boots and winter clothing with you!

We will start with a short learning session, where you will be introduce into the basic skill of walking with snowshoes.Then the group will start the walk through the forest and over the mountain through deep snow and on some steep slopes.

This will be a great walk to remember.

The hiking is made easy by wearing special shoes on your feet that allow you to walk on top of the snow rather than sinking up to your chin.You will need normal walking boots as the snowshoes have adjustable straps and will fit on any boots. The 3h-30 min walk over the Great Mountain near Cluj will bring you to great view points and through deep forests. Knowledgeable guide will offer discussions on native plants and animals, geology and local culture. Discover the finer points of winter ecology and other unique conditions of the Carpatian Mountains area. We will also stop along the way to take in the beautiful views and enjoy hot drinks. The snowshoes are included and provided by us together with walking poles.

We (family: 2 adults and 2 children aged 10 and 9) carried out the snowshoe hike on December 29. In the morning at 8am we were picked up by our guide Tudor at the hotel and drove about 1 hour into the mountains. In the mountains we then hiked with the snowshoes for about 4 - 5 hours. It was a pristine nature with fantastic views. Tudor was a perfect guide who adapted the tour ideally to the children. The sun was shining and we enjoyed this day. From our side a clear recommendation to make this tour. Tudor is really great and also speaks very good English.

We had the pleasure of spending 2 days in a row with Tudor (as we booked a different tour with him the day before). I have traveled quite a bit and have experienced many tours/guides and Tudor is by far one of the best. He made our snowshoeing (turned micro spike) day so much fun (with some added in sliding). He was well prepared for the adventure (snowshoes, poles, sleds, etc) and met all our needs. The hike was about 4 hours and we enjoyed it the entire time. The pace was perfect and the scenery was amazing. What a beautiful and serene journey he provided through the snow covered mountain. He also helped us during the days that followed the tour - as he provided information on hikes we could do and restuarants we could eat at. His kindness and generosity did not go unseen. We thank you so much Tudor for such an amazing time in Romania. Hopefully the dream team can reunite someday🙂

The trip guide was very friendly and nice but he was walking super fast and it felt more like a fast workout and we wanted to see more nature and play a bit and take our time walking. We did tell him to walk slower a few times. View was beautiful and I wished we had more time it felt like it was so fast only walking no stopping to connect to nature a bit which is the reason we bought the trip in the first place. I still recommend the guide is very nice and lovely so it makes up for basically running the entire trip.

We had a great day in the snow with our guide Tudor! It was the first time for all of us on snow shoes. The area of the Tour was great, there was quite a bit of snow already early January and amazing nature. We had a lot of fun to run arround with the shoes and enjoyed the difficult uphill passages as well as running downhill. Tudor was very knowledgeable and also had some food and drinks ready for us during the tour. We always felt save and well guided in the remote area. The tour got a bit long though in the end for all of us and the last hill was quite the challence :) Maybe fitting the tour a little more to the needs of the participants would be good.
