Trakai

Would you like to walk around Trakai in winter when everything is covered with snow and turned into a white fairytale? With snowshoes you can walk on deep snow, discover fascinating places and enjoy beautiful winter scenery. Trakai is located on a peninsula between several lakes, surrounded by a scenic countryside. On our four hours long tour you will see the main landmark of the area – the gothic Trakai Castle. This impressive fortification was built in the 14th century out of red bricks and stones. You will walk through beautiful forests and meadows, and experience a spectacular view over the Varnekai Bog and lakes. Trakai Island Castle Museum

You will see Trakai Island Castle, one of the main tourist attractions in the country and the symbol of Lithuanian statehood. Being built on an island on Lake Galve, one of the deepest lakes in Lithuania, the red brick medieval castle looks just like out of a fairytale. Trakai Island Castle used to be a residence of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania.
