The tour is approximately 2 hours long and features an iconic classic car called a Trabant. The object of the tour is to take you back in time and make you feel what life was like for people living in Bulgaria during the communist era. Our focus is not to put you to sleep with statistics but rather show you what kind of challenges people had to deal with both during and after the communist times.

5.00Ivo and Danny have been amazing and very passionate guides on the communism tour. Right from the start, the group connected and shared humor, putting a smile on all our faces. A piece of ancient beauty added to the experience when each of us got a ride in an old Trabant at the very beginning. Ivo shared fascinating, insightful, and perspective-shifting information about communist times and communism itself throughout the entire tour, introducing us to new knowledge as well as ideas we had never encountered before. We highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to take a deep dive and spend a lovely two hours in Sofia. Thank you, Ivo and Danny, for this amazing tour!

5.00Dany our tour guide was excellent! The car was in great shape and a fun part of history. I don’t speak Bulgarian but his English is perfect. The bell memorial that he ends the tour with is a must see!

5.00Fantastic tour with Raban, very knowledgeable, it was a great experience and highly recommended. A lot to see it was supposed to be 2 hours but ended up as 3.

5.00My husband and I had a great time driving around Sofia in Danny's trabant. Danny does a great job telling you about Bulgaria's communist past and you get to make a few stops at some of the historically important sites, but the trabant is the star of the show. When Danny came to pick us up at our hotel there was a Ferrari parked in the drive and the trabant was parked in front of it- everyone was walking right past the Ferrari to take pictures of the trabant! Take a drive around Sofia and see for yourself how fun it is!

5.00We enjoyed the tour with the super good guide Rado. He told us a lot about the communist era and showed us a lot. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to do something special. And ask if they can get Rado as a guide!!😊😊

5.00The tour, the car and our host Danny were awesome! We had so much fun driving around in the Trabi and it certainly attracted a lot of attention 😀 Danny was a great laugh, giving us a good insight into Bulgarian history and sharing his family experiences too. I highly recommend everyone try this tour out if you can, you won’t regret it.
