During the tour you will visit the three most important churches of the town: the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Saint Sofia Basilica and Saint George Rotunda, and you will see all main sites in the city center, such as: the old Parliament, the Sinod, the Library, the monument of king Liberator, the old Royal residence, the National theater, the Largo complex, the presidency, the Roman Remains, the old Baths, the judicial palace and more! In the middle of the tour, there will also be a short break to refresh in a cafeteria. After the tour you will also receive some recommendations for traditional restaurants and museums, if you are interested in visiting such!

My daughter and I had the pleasure of joining a 2.5-hour historical walking tour in Sofia on March 31, 2026 with Vasil Nachkov, founder of Hola Bulgaria. It was an excellent experience from start to finish. Vasil has a very strong command of Sofia’s history and explained the significance of many buildings and landmarks with impressive accuracy and clarity. You can really tell he knows his subject in depth, and he presents it in a way that is both engaging and easy to follow. What I appreciated most was how well he balanced detailed historical insight with a relaxed, approachable style, which made the tour enjoyable for both me and my daughter. It never felt overwhelming, yet we learned a lot. If you’re looking for a knowledgeable and professional guide in Sofia, I would highly recommend this tour.

There is a lot to see in the area and the guide did a super job pointing out and explaining things at a reasonable pace. One suggestion is to point out a viable restroom to go to after the tour.
Very rich in information, but the way he explains is a way that you can remember.

In my experience, he turned his story around. He could hardly answer in-depth questions. I dropped out in the interim, also for physical reasons.

Vasil did an excellent job on our tour. We had a small group and he did a great job explaining the facts and history behind all of the sites, which greatly enhanced our experience in this amazing city. The pace was fine and easily walkable. We highly recommend Hola Bulgaria.

Vasil, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable. I felt like I got a very complete history lesson. The group was small and we were able to move to all places within 3 hours. We walking a lot! And I don’t think we missed any important place in Sofia.

It was a great and informative tour with our guide Vasil. He told us a lot of information about the buildings and the history of Bulgaria and especially about Sofia. After a good three hours the tour was over. Can only recommend 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
