Minimum age of 8, and minimum shoe size of EUR 35
Sturdy hiking boots with ankle support are mandatory (available to rent for a fee if needed)
The tour is rated as easy - no prior experience is needed but guests should expect to walk ~3km over uneven terrain
Please note that our specialized glacier crampons are only available for shoe sizes 35-50 EU. Those with a shoe size beyond these are unfortunately unable to participate.

Located on Iceland’s iconic South Coast, this adventure is for anyone who wants to touch real ice and see the wonders of a glacier firsthand. It is a perfect blend of easy exercise and breathtaking scenery. Your adventure begins at our base in the Sólheimajökull Parking Lot, about a 35-minute drive from the town of Vík. Here, you meet your friendly, certified glacier guide. After a safety briefing and gear-up, you’ll embark on a scenic walk toward the ice, passing a glacier lagoon where blue icebergs float beautifully in the water. Once we step onto the ice, you’ll discover a frozen world of towering ridges and deep blue formations. Our friendly local experts will be right beside you to ensure you feel safe and confident, while they bring the glacier to life with stories of the glacier - how it was formed, how it is changing, and why it is so special to Iceland. We keep our groups small for a more personal experience with plenty of time for questions, making this a top choice for families, couples, and solo travellers.

5.00Our guide Lukas Was incredible! He was super organized, professional, fun, and took care to make sure that we were all safe and together at all times. His instructions and information were very clear and we learned a lot from him. It was perfect 10/10 experience. Can’t imagine it being any better. This was one for the record books. Would definitely recommend!

5.00Lucas our guide was absolutely amazing! He was very patient and did an excellent job of ensuring our group stayed together. He was also super funny and made the hike interesting. I highly recommend this tour to anyone thinking of doing it. This was definitely the highlight of our Icelandic adventure.

5.00The tour was great! Daniel, our guide, was friendly, knowledgeable, and shared many fascinating insights about the area and the glacier. It felt truly special to experience the glacier up close, yet also deeply saddening to witness the effects of global warming on it. Ice climbing was so much fun, we even managed to do two routes, which exceeded my expectations! The hike involved going up and down uneven terrain, so it’s best suited for those who are comfortable with that. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience!
