Sonic Charters is able to accommodate groups up to 9 passengers on our top of the line power boats.

• One of our fabulous captains, whose bios you can see listed on our Captain’s page. Your captain will be your private guide for a fun-filled day on the water. All of our captains are Coast Guard certified and incredibly knowledgeable about our waters. Please allow them to help you customize your day to ensure it’s the best day of your vacation!
• Top of the line snorkel gear for all guests- and we have kids sizes too!
• State of the art JL Audio sound system with iPod hookup so you can blast your tunes.
• Cooler of ice & water.

Prices do not include fuel, captain’s gratuity or customs fees if you’re traveling to the British Virgin Islands. Please remember to tip your captains: island-norm is 15-20% of the cost of your boat trip.
All passengers entering the British Virgin Islands are required to pay a $65 customs fee and it must be paid in cash. This is collected upon boarding the boat, so please make sure to remember this. If you are travelling to the British Virgin Islands National Park (The Indians, Caves, The Baths), there is an additional $6/pp charge.

All of our charters are private and custom so it would just be your group with our captain for the day and you can go anywhere you'd like. The most we usually take on our center console boats is 9 people. You don't have to know exactly where you want to go, the captain can give you plenty of suggestions and you can play the day by ear. For the center console boats, a full day is 8 hours. Fuel charges would depend on where you go. If you went to the BVI you could visit any combination of Tortola, Norman Island, Jost van Dyke, etc. and fuel it would be around $175; anywhere between $150-200 depending on where you go and how much you bounce around. Virgin Gorda is not included in this as it's about 40 miles away so if you included The Baths in your itinerary fuel would be around $275-300; maybe less it just depends on the water conditions that day and where else you went. We do this trip often but always like to let people know it's more expensive for the fuel. You could also stay in the USVI and spend your time around St. Thomas, St. John, Water Island and some of the little uninhabited islands and fuel would be about $150. Our captains make sure that each trip is customized to fit exactly what the guests are looking for whether it be snorkeling, beach bar hopping, visiting the most popular spots, checking out some of the more hidden local spots or a combination of all. On these boats we provide snorkel gear and a cooler with ice and water and you're welcome to bring anything you want.

5.00Our captain John made our trip very pleasurable! We left the itinerary up top him and he nailed it! Snorkeling, finding sea turtles, exploring a ship wreck, pointing out different islands, checking out cool boats, and so much more! We were a group of 8 and were very comfortable on the boat.

5.00Would definetly recommend a day on the water while on St. John's. It gives you a very unique view of the islands and Sonic Charter is the way to go! Carrie was so easy to work with and book and Captain Robert did an excellent job of giving the best experience from swimming with the turtles, to great snorkeling spots, to seclued beaches to dining at lime out. Highly recommend.

5.00We had a perfect full-day charter for 8 people with Captain Patrick on Sonic Charters! What I loved was Patrick’s knowledge of the islands, his willingness and expertise in taking us exactly where he knew we would see the most amazing sea life, and his sense of humor and smile. He also took us to the floating taco place in Coral Bay, which was excellent, and pointed out landmarks and notable areas along the way. I have been coming to St. Thomas, every year for 52 years, and I would highly recommend Sonic Charters to anyone who wants a fantastic day on the water that includes, fun, efficiency, and a true authentic island experience. In addition the boat was immaculate and well equipped for the occasion.

5.00We had a great experience with Captain Jesse. The water was rough and he was able to still find great spots to snorkel. We have chartered with Sonic four times and they service is top notch and we have never been disappointed. We stayed at The Westin on St John and he was able to pick us up and drop us off at our hotel. Highly recommend Sonic Charter for all your excursion needs

5.00We had the best time from the moment Capt Sam picked us up in the cove at the Ritz until he dropped us off. The boat was well kept. Capt Sam was easy to talk to and a wealth of knowledge about the islands. He took us to some great snorkel spots and beaches. He also recommended some great places to eat. This tour was the highlight of our trip.

5.00We had a super fun half-day cruise with captain Nate on the New Magic. He made sure to take the calm route so that 10 of us could enjoy snacks and sipping cocktails all the way! We stopped for a soak in Reef Bay, Saint John, and then watched the sun set over Christmas Cove. It was a gorgeous afternoon on a gorgeous boat. Love the circular seating arrangement on New Magic! Everyone was really friendly and accommodating. Can’t wait for our next trip with Sonic Charters. Thanks for making it extra special!

5.00I had reached out to another charter company twice to ask some questions and after no response, I found Sonic. I am so grateful I did. Carrie responded immediately to my email and followed up with communications leading up to the day we were booked for our 4 hour snorkel charter. Captain Nate was fun, knowledgable and extremely personable. My 17 year old son said he enjoyed talking to Nate as much as he enjoyed the snorkeling. Nate put us right on top of an area full of sea turtles - and they were amazing. At our second stop, our grown girls, who are big shark week fans, finally got to see a shark swim by us. It was a docile nurse shark, but thrilling all the same. The fish and beauty of the snorkeling in St John was breathtaking. My favorite part was the ride home as Nate let us crank up his incredible bluetooth sound system and we sang songs at the top of our lungs all the way back to the dock at St Thomas. Stop looking for any other options - you will be so glad you booked with Sonic.

5.00We had an awesome time with Captain Nate and Sonic charters. We ranged in age from 10 to 64 and we ALL had an adventure to remember. Carrie stayed in touch with us on the plans for our day and made all arrangements needed for us to get to the marina. We snorkeled with the sea turtles ( which a description or even pictures can not come close to describe the experience). We moved to a reef and saw urchins,many fish and coral. We had an experience most do not ever get! We were able to see Pilot whales! Our Captain Nate was even excited about that since that is not common in that area! Captain Nate was very knowledgeable and shared the history and other interesting information about the area. We look forward to our next trip and HIGHLY RECOMMEND Captain Nate and Sonic Charters.
