Our kitchen is located in a historic building: a 16th century flour windmill in the heart of Palma de Mallorca which we have brought back to life.
At MOLTAK we celebrate life as reflected in the kitchen. Where the main ingredients are the stories shared as we linger around the stove, appetisers in hand, and set simple tables. Moments that create sparks, that matter, all cooked together with love and a touch of adventure.
Because there has always been a lot of life in the kitchen. A lot of all things good. A lot of joy, a lot to cheer, a lot of flavour, and a lot of laughter. And all that, is what we want to share with you
We love sharing our knowledge for local food, culture and our beautiful island. Participants will elaborate the menu with the help of our hosts. After the cooking session, we will eat together enjoying the best atmosphere and nice wine.
“The most exciting ingredients at our table, are always your stories”.

Host's tips
Our hands-on cooking experience in a historic building: an old flour windmill from the 16th century that we have brought back to life. Aprons on, we will dive into our culture cooking all together a 5 dish full menu on a journey all around our country and back to Mallorca. Through our kitchen, we will travel to different parts of Spain, taste traditional flavors and discover the secrets hidden in the preparation of the culinary icons of our culture. Vivan, Ricc, María or Luís, will guide you into the “classic” of every home and the tricks our mums and grandmothers use in the kitchen. Tasty easy to make recipes that you can take home so you can surprise friends & family: local "sobrasada" appetizer, the authentic "tortilla", tradicional "paella" and "Catalan cream". All cooked with loats of love and a pinch of adventure! We turn the process into a fun, team working and accessible session, so that our guests enjoy their time together and feel secure and able to repeat the menus back home. After the cooking session, we will sit together at our big dining table and experience the love for the emotional, social and festive component of the Mediterranean table

We took our son and his girlfriend to the Mallorcan cooking experience and everyone had a blast! Carlotta was wonderful - friendly, informative and fun. She made sure everyone took part, and created a lovely, easy atmosphere with the other guests - from the US and Austria. The location is a converted windmill in old Palma, and the conversion was done beautifully. We had not expected such a lovely setting, with arched windows and doorways, a modern Mallorcan kitchen with huge island, and a large dining table set for 8 people. We started with a glass of wine, which got everyone relaxed and in the mood. Then we prepped the desert and popped it in the fridge while we moved on to the frittata and paella, with some lovely nibbles in between. We learned how to prepare mussels, squid and monkfish for the paella, and how to make a frittata like a pro. Then we all sat down to enjoy our work. We couldn’t have enjoyed it more and can’t thank Carlotta enough for her enthusiasm and wonderful tuition.

Wonderful afternoon spent with like minded people all wanting to learn how to cook traditional Mallorcan dishes. Vanessa, our tutor, was excellent she gave step by step instructions and was open to questions we all got involved in the cooking. The venue is a beautiful windmill and Vanessa told us of the history. All in all a great experience.

Vanessa was a great chef/hostess/teacher. Very friendly and accommodating. However my wife is mad at her because “she made me fat.” We had a great time, but it was different than we expected. You should understand that you will not be cooking all the time, maybe about 1/4 of the time. Different members of the party help cook at different times for each dish. This experience is more about enjoying food with the other 7 members of the class. We really enjoyed getting to know everybody and enjoying food and wine with them. Oh, did I mention the wine? The wine is bottomless, so your glass will never be empty. The Windmill kitchen is a great venue, cozy and cool with lots of onlookers peering through the windows to see what’s going on inside. We really enjoyed this excursion and thought it well worth the money.

The cooking class was terrific, the food was delicious. My husband and I laughed and had so much fun. The rest of the class got along super well which made the experience even better. Would do it all over again.
