Join this tour to explore Split's rich heritage and transformation from Diocletian's era to today. I've been born and raised in Split and it makes me happy to share rich history, culture, and hidden gems of my hometown!

You will be a part of a small group so you can truly enjoy in each step of the way.

Let me take you on a walk through Split's ancient city and the iconic Diocletian's Palace. This tour offers a exploration and explanation of the rich heritage and transformation of this UNESCO World Heritage Site from the days of Emperor Diocletian to the vibrant present.

We'll stroll through cobbled streets of Split's Old Town, where every corner holds a story to be told. Learn about the impressive Palace walls and architecture of the palace complex which stands here over 1,700 years when Diocletian choose it as his luxurious residence.

We'll start our tour at main promenade Riva. You'll see a model of Split and hear an introduction about Diocletian, his Palace and Split in general.

We will pass through Substructures of Diocletian's Palace, a fascinating labyrinth of underground corridors and rooms that once served as the foundation of Emperor Diocletian's palace. As we explore this underground maze, you will marvel at the sophisticated engineering techniques used by the ancient Romans and imagine life within these rooms centuries ago.

My guide Lucija was incredibly knowledgeable of the ancient and modern history of the city, with an informal style which made it a very pleasurable experience. Her passion for Split and its culture were very evident and her recommendations of places to visit and food to eat (Pasticada !)were greatly appreciated. Highly enjoyed our walk through the old town. Guide told stories about the inhabitants of different palaces and gave insights on their interiors (as well as several restaurants and shops) along the way so we could go back in more depth on our own time. "Go Hadjuk!" Our small group was only 2 - so we lucked into a personal guided morning in Split. Tip: guide was standing near the Riva boardwalk trees rather than the gate used by other tours. A little trickier to find among the tourist crowds.

Excellent way to start a Split trip! Lucija was very knowledgeable and excellent at condensing information about the history of the city, as well as giving good recommendations about things to do in the area. A morning tour was a good choice, as was cooler and less crowded.
