A truly unique wine tasting experience

5.00We arrived in the off season, so the vibes were dormant. Even so, we got a sense of how beautiful the winery must be in the summer. As for the tasting, it was a unique experience. We tasted familiar varietals such as Riesling, and indigenous Macedonian grapes such as temjanika and vranec. All the wines displayed intense acidity and minerality, but we could taste the variety within them, and all wines were well balanced and very drinkable. Together, this is a brilliant expression of the terroir. Each wine also comes with a small plate of fruit, cheese, or meat, which is prepared with the same love as the wines. Thanks to S&S winery for an amazing experience.

5.00It’s an outstanding place and view. We haven't been to our Ohrid for 4 years and we didn't even know that a place like this existed. The hosts are wonderful people. Try the homemade rakija.

5.00My wife and I did their 3-hour wine tasting and enjoyed it. Everything was well done, particularly the food. It was probably the best food I’ve had at a wine tasting. We had a wide assortment of wines and other alcoholic drinks. The cuvée was our favorite white wine and the Seraphim was our favorite red. We also liked their walnut liqueur a lot. We booked a ride from old town with the taxi service that is recommended on their website. It worked out very well. Cost was €13.

5.00We were fortunate enough to be introduced to S&S Winery while on tour in Ohrid. This family-run, boutique winery is outstanding. The quality and variety of the wines is incredible. Every sample we tried was fantastic. Many of the wines are award winners. Every one of them was great! You can taste the love the owners have for the art of winemaking. Their wines, rakia, and brandies are all delicious … as was the food. We had our best (and most memorable) dinner of a two week tour of the Balkans at S&S. The food was delicious, plentiful, and the servers were attentive to our every need. Love S&S!!

5.00The wine tasting evening was lovely! Delicious wines and appetizers. The staff were very welcoming. I would recommend it. However, in the ad it should state that it is outside the city centre. It wasn’t until I used Google maps to try to walk there that I saw it would be an hour walk and it was already too late. Yes, it’s on the winery’s website but it would help if it is also in the Trip Advisor ad.

5.00From the moment we walked through the winery gates we were made to feel welcome . Friendly and knowledgeable hosts guided us around the winery explaining the wine making process and allowed us to explore and taste the grapes before the wine tasting. The wines were served with wonderful local foods and an explanation of each wine. Generous glasses and never rushed, we booked for 2.5 hours but were there for nearly 5!!! No pushy sales pitch to sell more wine to take away. Remember to bring plenty of cash though, we only bought one but would have bought more if we had more cash!! We used the taxi from Sands web page to take us there and back. Arrived on time and collected us when we were ready to return. Very reasonable price and reliable friendly service. A perfect day from start to finish. Highly recommended and we will return!!

5.00⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What an incredible wine tasting experience! From start to finish, everything was absolutely amazing. The staff were warm, knowledgeable, and made the entire evening feel special. The crowd was fantastic—friendly, fun, and added so much to the atmosphere. Nikola was outstanding, going above and beyond to make the event memorable. I would happily pay to come back again—highly recommend to anyone looking for a truly unforgettable wine experience!

5.00This was a last minute decision whilst on holiday and we are so glad we did it. We phoned first to check availability and arrived around 8pm Our hotel phoned us a taxi but the driver had no idea where the winery was (less than 2 miles away). Apple Maps took us down a dirt track and the driver had to re-route and ring his office for directions. Would recommend using the taxi company on the s&s winery website to avoid confusion. On arrival we had a guided tour of the premises and an explanation of the wines - many of them award winning. We picked the second package 2.5 hours. I was expecting small mouthfuls of wine - tasters like I’ve had on other wine tasting experiences - but each wine was a full glass! I actually couldn’t keep up! The food was delicious - fresh, local produce. Our favourite wine was the white Temjanika and we bought a bottle to take home. We liked that the notes about the wines were on the table to refer to. At the end of the evening the owners sorted a return taxi for us. Note - they don’t take card, it’s cash only. Overall we had a fantastic evening with great hospitality, amazing wines and high quality food. A highly recommended experience.
