The Queensferry Crossing, opened in 2017, is the newest of the three and spans the firth with its modern design. We took a private day tour of St. Andrew’s with Ed. It was an amazing tour and Ed was so knowledgeable and professional. He was very communicative leading up to the trip and even had suggestions for us to make lunch reservations prior to our arrival. This was very important, even though we didn’t realize this ahead of time, because it was a very busy day at the Old Course. We felt like we had known Ed almost immediately. He was laughing with us and made us feel very comfortable. Although we traveled quite a distance during the trip, it seemed to go so quickly because we were really enjoying the facts and little quizzes that Ed engaged us in. Ed also gave suggestions for the remainder of our stay which was very helpful. While we have no plans as of yet to return to Scotland we would love to return and when we do, we will definitely be touring with Ed again!

We were not 100% sure we would be excited about this journey but felt like we needed to see it since we were in Scotland. Much to our surprise, we loved it. The course is simply beautiful! Our driver, Edmonton, was excellent as well. He prompted us to get a reservation at the Tom Morris restaurant and was very pleasant to spend time with.

The driver/guide was very flexible in making sure the tour fit our expectations. He asked about what we had been doing on our other tours and we told him about going to see the cathedrals, so he took us to two that he thought we would like to see in the St. Andrew's area. He also made sure we were able to have lunch at the clubhouse at the St. Andrew's golf course. When I complained that the shop at the clubhouse only had one size of shirts on hand, he took us to another shop with a lot more merchandise to choose from. He dropped us at a restaurant on a crowded street when we got back to Edinburg so we wouldn't have to walk there from our hotel since he knew we were at the end of our trip and very tired. He made it a day for us to enjoy ourselves and relax which we appreciated.
