Historical Significance:
The St Kitts Scenic Railway tour is a narrow gauge railway that was originally built in the early 20th century to transport sugarcane from the island's plantation to the sugar factory.
Scenic Route: The train follows a 30-mile circular radius around the island providing passengers with picturesque villages, stunning views of lush rainforests, views of urban and rural areas, lush landscaping of farming, and the different livestock that seem to freely roam the island.
Double decks: The train provides two levels. The upper-level has open-air seating and the bottom with air-conditioning. Passengers have the opportunity to sit inside or enjoy the fresh air and panoramic views from the top deck

St. Kitts
Let's begin an exhilarating experience by sitting on the top open-air section of the train (the bottom is enclosed and air-conditioned). Originally built between 1912 and 1926 to deliver sugar cane from the fields to the sugar mill in Basseterre, the "Last Railway in the West Indies" now provides a fascinating way for visitors to see the island from the comfort of modern passenger train cars and sightseeing buses. As the train begins to chug out of the station you begin to be treated to stunning vistas of the island's dramatic coastline and rolling hills. As the train hugs the railway into the Northeastern coastline spectacular vistas of the ocean, surf, cliffs, and lush vegetation surround you. The train rolls across tall steel bridges spanning deep "ghuts", or canyons, and winds through small villages and farms. Dark green rainforests are skirted by rippling fields of remnant sugar cane fields with the volcanic cone of Mt. Liamuiga rising above the railway.

3.00The pick-up was chaotic. The driver said getting back we would need to pay for a cab if yhete is not enough space on the buses of the organisation to get back to Porte Zante. The train was guider by a women using a mic. Would have loved to hear more of the history. It seems you mainly got worth for your money if you drank as much alcoholic all-inn beverages as possible. Which was not my goal of this trip

4.00I didn't know there was almost a 1 hour bus ride to the train, but the driver was an expert tour guide and even sang to us. The scenery was sea and mountains and was beautiful. All kinds of drinks, first one free and island dancers, so a party atmosphere. Open air upper level had a nice sea breeze, so it wasn't hot.
Enjoy the scenic ride with Rum punch!

3.00It was a great experience with wonderful moments but there have been to many people at the train. It was really hard for this period of time to sit that close to the neighbor and very inconvenient. During the whole time it was impossible to turn around and take pictures. That was really sad.

5.00Enjoyable multi-transportation way to view the Island. Our driver was very informative and the views on the waybill the train were beautiful. Train was loud and rocked back and forth quite a bit. But the included drinks helped with that. Our server "The G" was amazing at navigating the motion while providing great service.

4.00We did this tour through Celebrity Cruise line. You meet the tour at the end of the pier. Our smaller bus #2 with Kirk as our driver was air conditioned but it is tight inside. Kirk was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of information about St. Kitt during the ride to the train and afterwards on the way back. The train itself has a bottom and top deck. The bottom deck is air conditioned and the top deck is open with excellent views. Pro tip.. go upstairs.. plenty of breeze and not too too hot. lol.. the seating had good cushions on the upper deck with expansive views. Sweet Pea was the tour speaker on the train. An older gal with a superb sense of humor. She spoke almost the entire time as the train made its way around the island. The train ride itself is a bit jerky as is the nature of the beast it is after all a set of train cars pulled by a locomotive. Each car had a lovely and personable young lady who took drink orders and served everyone all the while the train was swaying and moving. No small feat. The drink set up looked good…nothing sub par about it at all… a nice machine with ice making all the various rum and punch drinks you could ask for. I can’t comment of taste as I did not have a drink since it was only 10 am… but many did.. the train trip was about 1 3/4 hours or so… saw lots of wild life..goats, cattle and a lot of tropical foliage. Overall a good excursion and a nice way to see a bit of St. Kitt.

3.00It’s about a 90 minute train ride that is elevated high above the ground. I liked the unlimited serving of rum drinks. The ride takes you through the countryside. I mostly enjoyed the historical information provided by our ground transportation Shawn. He was very knowledgeable, sprinkled in lots of laughs. It was worth the cost.

5.00This is a brilliant excursion. A bus takes you from the port to the station and then this amazing two level train comes round. Make sure you go on the top deck which is open. You get to look around the island on this amazing ricketty train (it really is Safe – honestly!). What happens then is that lovely ladies come round and ply you with free cocktails – strawberry and mango daquairis, rum punch, the works. What is there not to like!?

4.00Really enjoyed the railway tour, the railway is the best way the see the island. You can’t stage views of paradise. The bus journey does result in quite a bit of a wait (told 8:00 arrival but didn’t leave till around 9:00) and the driver Mr Roger’s is a bit grumpy
