This private walking tour explores explores perhaps the most beautiful town in Britain. Midway between London and York on the old Roman road and a smidgeon over an hour by train from London.
Stamford is perhaps the finest Georgian-era town in Britain. You might not have been there before but you’ll likely recognise it from its many appearances onscreen.
Stamford’s narrow alleyways and hidden courtyards are home to all manner of specialty shops, fine jewelers & designer boutiques. It also has a Friday Market and a buzzing High Street.
Almost every street in Stamford is a work of art with beauty everywhere you look. Not forgetting the great history and quite charm. It's heaven!

5.00Five of us had a morning tour with Stephen around beautiful Stamford, exploring some hidden gems of buildings and streets. Communication before the day was excellent, with Stephen providing valuable information including where to park. We appreciated the relaxed and easy nature of the tour, the fun facts Stephen relayed alongside his considerable historical knowledge, and we were even given the opportunity to pop in to an amazing craft fair. We were delighted with the fact that any questions we had were answered with authority by Stephen, whether it was about the history of Stamford or the buildings. We all came away having learnt something and agreed that it was a very enjoyable and memorable morning!

5.00A really great tour! Perfectly paced and flexible enough to accommodate our group spotting little places they wanted to look at including a bakery and the market. Stephen is an interesting and engaging guide, hugely knowledgeable and full of quirky little facts and anecdotes which really make a place come alive. I’ve been to Stamford many times but this tour covered places I had no idea existed and explained the history and significance of more familiar areas. A fascinating and very enjoyable morning.
