Day 1Tirana - Koman Lake - Valbona We will leave Tirana at 5:00 starting this epic trip in the North of Albania. Our first destination, “Koman Lake” has been the second most resourceful electricity-producing damn in all the country. From 1985 this lake has also been the main way of how the local travel. We will catch our ferry at 9:00 for a 2:30 hours magical sailing into “Koman Lake”. In addition, from the station of Fierza, we will have a local-style ride to the Natural Park of Valbona. Accommodation and lunch into Guesthouse in Valbona. Furthermore, after a short rest, it will be time for a warm-up hike to explore the area around the Valbona Valley. Hiking in Kukaj, a very remote area in Valbona Valley surroundings when we will see how the people do their living. Day 2Hiking from Valbona to Theth Also called the Big Day of the tour, we now set off on the thrilling hike from Valbona to Theth following the ancient path that the locals have been using for years. Back in the days, it was only possible to travel from Valbona to Shkoder on foot taking two full days of walking! Walking on this path we will pass through the oldest part of the village where people are still living in their more than 100-year-old stone houses that are remarkable remnants of the past. The 20-km trek offers spectacular views of long rocky valleys and lush green forests. We stop for lunch at one of the traditional cafés along the way but do stock up on snacks just in case. After trekking for about 7-8 hours we arrive in Theth which will for sure amaze us with its unique nature, history, and traditions including the village’s symbol, the Lock-In Tower. Overnight and dinner at the guesthouse. Day 3Theth - Gurnasi Waterfall - Lock In Tower - Shkoder After breakfast at the guesthouse, the beautiful Gurnas waterfall, located around a 45-min walk. On the way back we will be introduced to the fascinating rules and history of the Blood feuds, part of Albanian history. For a better understanding take a short look at “Broken April” book from Ismail Kadare. This tower and its history, highly contacted also with the phenomenon of “Burrnesha” or “Sworn Virgin” Return to Shkoder for overnight accommodation at the hotel. Short city tour of the city and free time. Day 4Stand Up Paddle in Skadar Lake - Return to Tirana and end of the Tour Paddling inside the Shkodra Lake restricted Ramsar and IBA (Important Bird Area) area of Lilly flowers for birdwatching. We will see the nesting habitat of Whiskered tern (Chlidonias hybrida) and the Dalmatian Pelican (Pelecanus Crispus). In addition, short coffee and toilet break at Bar Restaurant Arbri. Furthermore, the tour continues with a refreshing Mojito cocktail served from Buna Bridge and a magic view of Rozafa castle. In addition, the tour continues with a break from paddling. Stoping at a comfortable place on the shores of Buna River, traditional Pastry lunch will be served. Furthermore, it will be free time for sunbathing and swimming. The paddling will continue till the next stop to visit a cultural heritage monument of the XIII century. The Church of Shirq is a well-known place where the princesses got married. Around 5:00 is the end of the tour in Obot village. From there you take your own car that we bring there or we arrange the transportation back to the starting point. After all the experience we will plan our return to Tirana. You can also choose to continue the trip privately to Montenegro.

Great trip, highly recommended! Our tour guide Joseph was also great! He could tell a lot about the history of the many places we had visited, he took everyone into account and because he is from Shkoder we visited very beautiful places that he knew himself and he knew how to pick out the best restaurants! He was also very social, which meant that he could always arrange something for us if we needed it. Furthermore, the various valleys were very beautiful and the hike was a great experience. Very beautiful views and nice cafes along the way. This was also very easy to do because we could often rest.

We recently had a tour with our guide Joseph and I have to say, it was an experience I will never forget! Not only is Joseph incredibly friendly, but his knowledge of the locations we visited was nothing short of impressive. Every day was a new adventure full of fun activities and beautiful views. We had a great hike, had a delicious meal in the best restaurants that Joseph found for us, and the guesthouses where we stayed every night offered beautiful views with meals included. I can 100% recommend this to anyone looking for an unforgettable and perfectly organized travel experience. Joseph takes care of every detail and makes sure you get the best out of your holiday!

We were a couple travelling to Albania for the first time, not knowing what to expect. We got to experience so much in the duration of this tour, that it seems almost unreal. We have been to the mountain villages of Valbona and Theft, connected by an amazing hike in which you get to see the stunning scenery that Albania has to offer. You get to witness the diverse nature, from the rocky landscape to lush forests. Furthermore you also get to experience the nature from the water side, which was quite interesting. Just remember to bring plenty of sun cream and a sun hat :) We also got to taste traditional Albanian food, as well as meditarrian food and cold beverages. Andi was our guide and he has done his home work, that’s for sure. He is a very pleasant guy that makes you feel welcome and included in all the activities on this tour. He is passionate about Albanian history and you will have plenty of interesting conversations with this guy. All the planning from the pick-up in Tirana until our drop-off in Shkodër (after the stand upp paddling we stayed here, instead of going back to Tirana) was kept on schedule. So all in all you can expect a very versatile tour which is well organized and fun to attend. Lastly, there is a great balance between activity and free time which means that you also get enough time to recharge after a day of action!
Amazing hiking, paddle boarding, local Albanian culture and so much more, a perfect way to spend 4 days. Unforgettable.

A really amazing journey. Andi is a great guide and was knowledgeable, charming and very enthusiastic. The 4 day tour was as described, a decent level of fitness is required but Andi goes at his group’s pace. Guest houses, accommodation and meals were amazing. Hospitality was wonderful. There was so much versatility over the 4 days: boat trip in beautiful scenery, local villages, a dip in the “very” cold river, a testing hike with stunning views, waterfalls and local history, the lovely town/city of skhoder to discover, Delicious Albanian food, fresh spring water to drink (plus local wines and beers in abundance) and a soothing day paddle boarding discovering Albania’s bird life on beautiful rivers with swim stops. All in alI I could not fault the 4 days and would highly recommend this experience to get a real feel of Albania and it’s beautiful countryside and villages and people. Travel organisation for the whole group from pick up to dropping us back at our various hotels/Apparments was spot on. Andi goes that extra mile to make sure his group have an unforgettable experience. You just have to turn up at the designated time and Andi has everything else covered.

We had a really wonderful day. The city of Prizren is really amazing and the tour guide a professional one. I also liked the fact that we could customize the route and we profited from it.
