Depart over the Remarkables, track along the Oreti River across New Zealand’s vast southern farmland before reaching the stunning Southern Coast.

Fly over Foveaux Strait passing Dog Island and Ruapuki Island before landing on Ryan’s Creek Airstrip on the hill overlooking the Oban township.

This is an unguided day on Stewart Island where you can choose how to spend your day. From an adventure-packed itinerary to spending a leisurely day birdwatching or walking.

All additional activities are to be booked directly by the customer and are not included in the package. Any activities should be booked between 10:45am - 3:30pm.

Enjoy fresh fish and chips from the Kai Kart or local eatery

Sit back and relax on your flight back to Queenstown after enjoying the real ‘island life’ adventures.

Absolutely incredible trip. It was a stunning flight from start to finish. All take offs and landings were really smooth. Our pilot rob, was a very skilled pilot, very knowledgeable and had great commentary on our way down. I learnt so much about the south island.

Had a great trip to Stewart Island from Queenstown with Glenorchy Air. The weather was very good for flying and the aircraft was ideal as a tourist aircraft. The time on Stewart Island was great and the tour to Ulva Island was a hightlight. Jim, the pilot took good care of us and made it an informative and pleasant experience. One minor criticism, there was not enough time between the bus tour and the water taxi to Ulva Island to eat our lunch. The blue cod fish and chips were good though, but we couldn't enjoy them fully

Great, scenic, narrated flight with pilot Meagan. Bus tour around quaint Oban + on island roads with Noah was very good & Informative. Boat & nature walk to Ulva to sample flora & fauna was also very well done & guided. Picnic lunch was excellent, but a little rushed.

This was such an amazing day out. Loved being on a 9 seater plane with only 7 passengers. Even on a full flight, everyone has a window seat. The flight itself was stunning - the views over the mountains, lakes and rivers were breathtaking. Stewart Island itself was beautiful and I can see why it is becoming ever more popular. The boat trip to Ulva Island and the gentle hike once there was another highlight. The guide, Natasha, was amazing. Her passion for the nature and especially bird life was infectious. Excellent value for money and a true must do!

Can't recommend this trip enough. Joseph, our pilot, was terrific--he made us feel safe, gave us great info during the flight, and was lovely all around. I was a very nervous flier but the flight was calm and easy and the views were stunning. We did the Ultimate Day Package and enjoyed both the Village and Bays tour and the Ulva Island Explorer with Real NZ. Jan and Karen's passion for the bird watching and the fauna was contagious. The box lunch was delicious and given to us as we waited for the Ulva Island trip. What a great day trip from Queenstown.
Highly recommend this fantastic trip!

Absolutely loved the Stewart Island experience with Glenorchy Air. The flight was stunning and Michael our pilot was fantastic and very knowledgeable. It was the perfect amount of time to explore the township, have lunch and jump on a water taxi to explore Ulva Island. Highly recommend this trip!

We had an amazing day flying to Stewart Island with Glenorchy Air. We felt in very safe hands with Joseph, our pilot, who supplied interesting and fun facts during the flight and helped to coordinate things on the ground at Stewart Island for us. Stewart Island and Ulva Island tours were brilliant for understanding remote island life, local wildlife conservation and the super knowledgeable bird guides. I would love to go back to Stewart Island and stay overnight for a chance of seeing Kiwis and being able to spend more time on Ulva Island. The views from the plane were amazing!

Fabulous trip to Stewart island. Smooth flight with amazing views, would definitely recommend it. Our pilot Will was friendly, helpful and gave us lots of information on the flight. Thankyou Will and all the friendly staff at Glenorchy.
