Windsor Castle is a working royal palace and planned closures/disruptions may be subject to change, from those seen on the product page.
Windsor Castle is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesday, we offer a walking tour instead on those days.
When the State Apartments are closed the Precincts, Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House and the Drawings Gallery remain open.

Due to driver's legal working hours restrictions, this tour will finish within a 2 or 3 minute walk of Gloucester Road Underground Station. This station is in Zone 1 and is three stops Eastbound on the Circle Line or the District Line to Victoria. The Piccadilly Line also runs through Gloucester Road, and is only 5 stops to Piccadilly Circus.
During the winter months an additional five rooms, known collectively as the Semi-State Rooms, are included in the visitor route.
St. George’s Chapel is usually closed to visitors on Sundays as services are held throughout the day. Worshippers are welcome to attend the services.

On 21st December 2025, this tour will not be visiting Stonehenge due to the Winter Solstice. Guests will have extended time in Bath and Windsor.

Windsor Castle
Your coach will leave from the designated meeting point at 8am sharp – make sure you’re there minimum 15 minutes before to check in! The first stop of your adventure will be the world’s oldest and largest occupied castle, Windsor Castle, where you will arrive at approximately 9:30am. With its sweeping landscaped gardens and a striking round tower, it's easy to see why Windsor Castle is King favourite weekend residence. Enjoy wandering through the lavish State Apartments - home to priceless artworks by Rembrandt, Leonardo da Vinci and many more - and visit the beautiful St. George's Chapel, the final resting place of former monarchs including Henry VIII and the wedding venue of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle!
St. George's Chapel
Step inside St George’s Chapel, located on the sprawling grounds, where notorious King Henry VIII and his favourite wife, Jane Seymour, are buried, as are Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother. St. George's Chapel is one of the finest examples of gothic architecture in England. It has been the setting for many royal weddings and is the burial place of ten sovereigns. The Chapel is dedicated to the patron saint of the Order of the Garter. Britain's highest Order of Chivalry. *St. George’s Chapel is closed to visitors on Sundays as services are held throughout the day. Worshippers are welcome to attend the services. These occur at the following times: 08:30 – Holy Communion 10:45 – Mattins and Sermon 11:45 – Sung Eucharist 17:15 – Evensong

4.00- Length of visit insufficient in Windsor Castle (due not to the tour itself but to the opening hours of the castle), yet an enjoyable visit - Very good experience in Stonehenge (without ticket, if you enjoy walking a bit, it's perfectly feasible) - A nice overview of the city of Bath + an interesting visit of the Roman baths - A very good company and guided experience with Bruce, a guide full of humour and anecdotes. A very efficient organization which enables to visit the three places in the same day, during the day time. Quite an exploit! Thanks also to the driver, Elvio!

I’m Autistic and so far all my experiences of traveling with Golden Tours have been very positive and enjoyable. Highly recommended it to anyone 😊.

4.00The tour was great overall, allowed you to see a lot! It is definitely a lot of driving time so be prepared to be on the bus for at least half of the day. I think they should be more transparent about the importance of bringing food. Each stop seemed long but once you are there, you want to spend all of your time seeing the sites and not having to stop for food. It is definitely a lot of waiting time but much of that is out of the tour’s control. I wish we had more time at each spot. We had about an hour in Windsor castle after we waited to get inside, so you wanted to use the full hour in the castle and there wasn’t time to get food. Same thing with Stonehenge, barely enough time to see Stonehenge and then also visit the exhibition area. In Bath we had 1 hour which was enough time to quickly see the Roman baths and then spend time in the Christmas market. We ended up getting back an hour later than expected but that was due to an accident on the road. Tour guide was very nice but I felt could have been a little more informative and clear. He did not go to Stonehenge with us which was fine but it was confusing because he made it sound like we needed to wait for him. Overall I’m very glad I went and definitely special sites to see, just need to be prepared with lots of snacks, a good book, and some patience!

5.00Although it only gives you a taste of Windsor Castle and Bath, it have ample time at Stonehenge. Bruce, our guide, was awesome. He gave us the info we needed to maximize the experiences in an entertaining way.

5.00Great experience over all! Our guide was Oliver and our driver was Sokol. We started 8am on the dot and first headed off to Windsor Castle. Incredible experience. Oliver takes you straight to the door and you can then roam free for roughly 90 minutes (dependent on what time your group has arrived). Then Stonehenge. Luckily we had nice weather. Unfortunately there were no listening guides provided by Stonehenge (what do you call them - those headsets) but they do provide a link to an app. If you're reliant on wifi, you can use the bus's wifi to download the app otherwise you're having to use 60MB of data to download it. My issue came when the app only plays the first 30-45 seconds of each chapter and nothing more, so it was rather useless. The trip is great tho. Then we headed off to Bath. Stunning place and we went for a tour through the Roman Baths - incredible history lesson and fascinating. There was some time left to experience the Christmas market and visit some shops. Along the way, Oliver shares a wealth of knowledge about nearly everything you can lay your eyes on, and he has excellent knowledge of literally the entire world - he can have a conversation with anyone about their country without him ever having visited. Sokol is an excellent driver and also great for a chat.
