We welcome you to discover the real flavors, colors, and rhythm of Panama City on our street-food tasting adventure that goes far beyond restaurants.
This is not a sit-down meal—it’s a walking experience through the city’s most authentic neighborhoods, where you’ll taste, learn, and connect with the people behind Panama’s local cuisine.
Start at the Seafood Market with three types of ceviche, then explore San Felipe Neri Market to sample Afro-Caribbean dishes, tropical juices, Geisha coffee, and hot sauces.
Continue along Avenida Central for tamales and a visit to a local bakery. In El Chorrillo, enjoy coconut fish, BBQ chicken, smoked chorizo, and escabeche fish, served in tasting portions.
Optional rum cocktail or juice included. This is a tasting tour, not a full meal.
Please note: This is a tasting tour, not a full meal at each stop. The experience focuses on authentic local life, culture, and connection rather than fine dining.

This family‑run food tour was truly something special. You could feel how much they love their culture, their neighborhood, and sharing it with others. Their hospitality was unmatched, warm, genuine, and so down‑to‑earth that it felt like we were being welcomed into someone’s home rather than joining a tour. They took us into their own neighborhood, a part of town that tourists usually don’t frequent, and that made the experience even more meaningful. Everyone we met was so welcoming and accepting, it honestly felt like we were being embraced as part of the community. That sense of belonging made the tour unforgettable and added a level of authenticity you simply can’t get anywhere else. Every stop had incredible food, but what made it truly stand out was the heart behind it. The stories, the pride, the connection to their roots, it all created a cultural experience that went far beyond just tasting dishes. This was hands down my favorite part of our entire trip. Huge shout out to Elena, Johnathan, Luis, and the rest of the family, I’m so sorry I can’t remember everyone’s names, but truly, EVERY single person was amazing. Their kindness, energy, and passion made this tour feel like a celebration of food, family, and community. I just cannot say enough good things about this tour. Please hear me when I say: YOU HAVE TO DO THIS TOUR if you ever visit Panamá. It’s more than a food tour it’s an experience that stays with you long after it’s over. Khim & Terrance

Overall, this was a good tour. There were plenty of samples to try. What other people might need to know is that the middle part of the tour was inside a market that had no air flow and very little seating available. While the tour guides did give us hand fans, they didn't offer any water after we started. We had to ask twice before they offered us a water bottle "we will have drinks soon". Guests - make sure to bring your own water bottles. In addition, this tour ended up being closer to 5 hours long. The last 1-1.5 hours was the best part, though, so my suggestion to Elena and Johnathon would be to cut down on the market part (less talk, less salsa, less standing still) and move on. That being said, we did learn a lot and get to have some great bites. Their passion for food and their communities was highly evident.

This tour kept exceeding my expectations on multiple levels. First, the team not only greets everyone warmly, but connects people with intention—especially those taking the tour solo. That small detail matters and immediately changes the energy of the experience. Next, they are actively making sure you are cared for throughout the tour, whether that means taking photos for you, collecting items after use, or providing a thoughtfully prepared experience packet with all the utensils you may need so you are always prepared to eat. Another thing they do exceptionally well is move you through the experience with care while feeding you information about the food, history, people, and culture of Panamá and the Casco Viejo community. Because of that, you always feel safe, informed, and looked after without even having to think about it. Finally, the team even has a small adjunct crew of the sweetest, most caring littles who occasionally join the tour and somehow make the experience even more fun and memorable. NOW—the food portion of the tour is amazing. The food is FIRE. You will try many different dishes, flavors, and combinations, and without question, you will leave full. Honestly, the value far exceeds the price paid. You will wait and want for nothing. Even with the high temperatures and humidity of the wet season, this was still a very enjoyable way to spend the day. There are even post-tour perks provided at the time of separation, which was another thoughtful touch. 10/10.

Overall, this was a great food tour. Started with super French ceviche at the fish market and ended with street food fried and dancing in the neighborhood with locals. Highlights include the information we learned, lots of great food and drink samples, and being made to feel like a neighbor with street dancing/music. Things to be aware of include the length and comfortability. Tour ended up being about 4.5-5 hours, but the last part was the best part. Also know that while the distance between stops wasn’t long, there was a good amount of time spent standing in the markets with few seats and little to know breeze. I recommend bringing a bottle of water with you - some is included, but didn’t come until later/requested. Even though we had a pretty big group, the guides and handlers were a well functioning team that managed us smoothly. Definitely would recommend this tour, as long as you’re able to stand and sweat for a good amount of time.

Had a great morning with our fantastic tour guide. Nice and early start before the heat erupted and the crowds. Quietly cycled through town almost no traffic on Sunday morning. Quietly stopped everywhere with lots of info. What a mega recommendation

This tour was far more than food—it was the unfiltered heartbeat of the real Panama City, Panama. Incredible flavors, raw history, resilience, and community woven together through neighborhoods many tourists never see. Ending at a community soccer game with live music, more food, and dancing…we experienced genuine joy making this an unforgettable and deeply human moment. Thank you Paradox Experience Tours for making us present for this moment and sharing what it means to be Panamanian.

This was a great experience! The team worked very hard to make sure everyone could hear and were safe and comfortable the whole time. This was so much more than a food tour. If you are looking for a tour with great food where you can also experience and learn about the real culture of the area, this is it. I loved getting to interact with the local people.

The experience completely surpassed my expectations! I’ve been on food tours before, but this was unlike anything else — full of fun, education, laughter, and incredible food. Ellena, Jonathan, and the entire team were so welcoming, hospitable, and genuinely fun to spend time with. At the beginning of the tour, everyone feels like strangers, but by the end, you truly get to know Ellena, Jonathan, and even members of the crew. They all work together so seamlessly to make sure everyone feels safe, comfortable, and has an amazing experience. Everything was phenomenal — the food, the drinks, the energy, and the vibes. But what made this tour truly special was the deeper purpose behind it. They educate you about Panama in such an honest and meaningful way, including the realities of communities that many tourists may never otherwise see. It was eye-opening, humbling, and beautifully done. They also introduce you to restaurants and local spots you’d probably never find on your own, while giving amazing recommendations throughout the tour. The entire experience was filled with emotion, unforgettable stories, laughter, history, and the raw truth. My partner and I were especially lucky because the day we booked happened to be during a neighborhood anniversary celebration. The tour ended right in the middle of the block party, and it was truly the cherry on top of an already incredible day. The locals welcomed us so warmly, and it was heartwarming to witness such a beautiful sense of community — kids running around, music blasting, people dancing and celebrating together while I enjoyed an ice-cold Balboa. This tour was more than just food — it was connection, culture, history, and community. I cannot recommend it enough.

I wanted to share my enthusiastic recommendation for the Street Food Tour by Paradox Tours when visiting Panama. The tour is led by a thoughtful and highly competent team who ensure every detail is covered for the best possible experience. It’s a walking tour, so I suggest wearing comfortable, preferably enclosed shoes in case it rains. The walking is not excessive, with plenty of opportunities to sit and enjoy the food. The tour wonderfully blends local cuisine with cultural insights. Our guide, Elena, was incredibly knowledgeable about both the food and the culture. The tour departs promptly, so it’s important to be on time. Many thanks to Jonathan, Luis, Melqui, Isaac, and Elena for a memorable experience. Special thanks to Aron for his exceptional care of a deaf member of our group, and a shout-out to a fellow guest celebrating a birthday. I highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Panama.

Even though the tour runs from 2 PM to around 6 PM, every minute and every bite is absolutely worth it. It’s a long experience, but it never feels slow — there’s always something new to taste, learn, or discover. This was easily one of the best experiences I had during my week in Panama. The variety of flavors is incredible, and everything feels authentic and carefully curated. After the tour, I even had the chance to visit several of the places featured in their gastronomic magazine, and they were just as amazing as everything we experienced during the tour itself. What really makes this stand out is that it goes far beyond food. It’s a deep cultural, gastronomic, and historical introduction to Panama. You don’t just taste the country — you understand it. Highly recommended if you want something real, immersive, and unforgettable.
