5.00We had a blast on our Surabaya tour with “Mun” (sp?). Great fun on the tuk tuk ride to the working market, which seemed primarily for cleaning and packaging shallots, garlic, peppers, spices and other vegetables. Lots of opportunities for great pictures. Other stops at the Chinese temple with puppet show, the Heroes Market, and lunch were great also. We really appreciated the visit to Sunan Ampel Great Mosque and the opportunity to interact with locals. All in all a very nice tour. Our guide provided lots of information, history and guidance..

A great and inexpensive way to see Surabaya

4.00Surabaya isn't really a tourist destination, but our cruise ship called there so we needed to do something. What this tour did was show us how ordinary Indonesian city-dwellers live. The visit to the market, the puppet show in the temple, the rickshaw ride and the visit to the church (with its guinea pigs and cute local children), as well as the short walks around the streets, gave us some fascinating insights into local life. Fitri, our guide, was very helpful. Although the tour usually included a meal, we were all being fed on the ship, so instead we went to the historic and impressive Majahapit hotel for tea and cake, which was excellent. Overall, a pleasant and informative way to spend an afternoon in a city without any major tourist attractions.

5.00Took the risk of booking a non-cruise excursion and so glad we did. Much cheaper. No more than 8 people in the group. Brand new minibus. Great young guide (Jita) who was very knowledgeable. Saw the sights. Had a really nice lunch in a very clean restaurant.
