  I came here to stay on the board for a wave and I left with starting to surf on green wafes with hardboard after 6 days. If you want to learn surfing, this is the way to go. The wave quality was perfect for me. There are very consistent white and green waves, suitable for beginners, intermediates, and advanced I could not have imagined better lessons. Pragee the instructor is very encouraging and sees exactly what you are doing wrong. I learned way more than I could have imagined. He gives a reason for everything he teaches so you can understand why and when to do what. When failing he remains patient and tells you what to change so next time it actually works. Being taught by him, it’s easy not to get frustrated even in the beginning (like I did many times before when I tried surfing myself). We were a group of 2, only my boyfriend and me, which seemed like a perfect student teacher ratio. He explained different waves and boards. amazing lessons. We started with soft board and soon changed to hard board(both long boards) Surf shirts are available for lesson but you can also buy pretty surf suits. Surf spot is right in front of the surf school, the beach is beautiful and you can walk out on a nice sand ground far enough for good white and smaller green waves. They are super consistent and reliable. No big current. For bigger green waves you need to swim. Accommodation is included. We were upgraded to the deluxe bedroom because we visited in “rain”-season. (It didn’t rain all week). Atmosphere is great. Pragee taught us about Sri lankan culture when we asked and we had an amazing campfire with him (and 2 other surfers) Hotel has pool, AC (very important, it’s hot here, even in rain season) and wifi. Breakfast was assembled at the beach. We had local foods and fruit. It was very delicious and a big portion. Every day after surfing we got a fresh coconut to drink. Huge vibe. We could suggest breakfast time ourselves and surf lesson as well. The overall vibe was humorous and welcoming. We did some after surf activity and one morning had breakfast at a local market. For 2 lessons a photographer came by and took pictures of us, surfing, with a great camera. There are no hidden costs and the value I get for the money is way more than I paid for. Pragee arranged everything we asked for and more. Also communicating via WhatsApp was easy, reliable and fast. 11/10 would recommend.

  I honestly can't recommend this surfcamp enough!! Our Instructor Pragee is amazing. In one week he taught us theory, softboard, hardboard, white and green waves, turning, ... He always really explains why you do what you do, so that you don't just copy the movements. He even gave us tips for surfing at other beaches on how to stay safe and how to avoid getting ripped of. Every morning we had an amazing breakfast at the beach with different meals each day. Pragee showed us the local way to eat it. We also got cultural insights, travel advice, and help with transportation. One of the highlights was our BBQ and campfire right at the beach with him and some of his friends. Compared to other surfcamps I've seen here, the quality of this one was so high also. Pragee was also so flexible with scheduling because we were running late sometimes😅 Honestly, we didn't just learn to surf but gained a friend here that we will stay in touch with which really is amazing. So if you want to learn surfing, go with Pragee and his team. Also just message him on WhatsApp, it made the communication so much easier then over third party websites!!

  We did our first surf session here. Me with my children 8 and 11 years. I can gladly recommend this surf school... We would be trained in a friendly and learnable way every day....   I was in the surf camp for two days with a friend and we could not be happier with our stay. Everything was taken care of: very nice accommodation right on the beach and next to the school, excellent breakfast on the beach, individual lessons (or with two people of the same level), which was great as a beginner!. Prageeth and all the staff were great, and everyone around was very chill and friendly. The bay is beautiful and perfect for surfing, especially if you are a beginner. 10/10
