Swim with wild dolphins in the sheltered bays and islands off Rockingham, only 40-minutes by road from Perth. This is a unique opportunity to interact with the dolphins in their natural environment. Over the course of 30 years, the crew has befriended over 200 local dolphins, and this familiarity makes for an incredible day interacting with these amazing, intelligent creatures.

Your day begins with a coach transfer from Perth or meet the boat at Val st Jetty, Rockingham (located in front of the Rockingham Cruising Yacht Club). On arrival you'll board the Perth Wildlife Encounters custom-made dolphin swim vessel complete with a large rear platform, making access to the water very easy. After your crew has located a pod, you’ll gear up with wetsuits, masks and snorkels (all equipment is included) and then dive into the fun, as you are quickly surrounded by excited whistles and splashes as the dolphins arrive to play. While many resorts provide opportunities to swim with dolphins, the crew’s rapport with these precocious marine mammals has created one of the best swim-with-dolphins excursions in Australia. Better still, Rockingham is a brief, 40-minute drive from Perth, making it an easy day trip. Following your swim, you’ll be treated to lunch with gourmet Seafood platters.

5.00I have always wanted to swim with dolphins but never wanted to exploit them in captivity so to have wild dolphins choose to interact with us was so incredibly special and demonstrates the trust that the dolphins have with this organisation.

5.00At first I thought we are going to be snorkelling but the whole experience is effortless just float ,glide onto the surface of the water while holding onto the belt of the next person n looking down trying to spot the dolphins.Even a non swimmer can do it.And the crew were amazing (Hugo,Willow, Briggite n the rest) they were very engaging, look after everyone and did accommodate my photography requests. My advice don't be like me at one stage I was kicking and that could potentially drive the dolphin away. I would recommend anyone who loves dolphins to go for it,truly wonderful experience.

5.00This was Christmas/birthday present and it was absolutely awesome. The staff/tour guides were excellent, friendly,knowledgeable and made the experience amazing . The boat was fantastic ,along with the skipper who found so many dolphins for us. The lunch & snacks were delicious. If you have thought about doing this tour go ahead!! You will not regret it !!

5.00It is surprisingly a very low active trip. Guides are very knowlegeable and passionate about Dolphins. They were genuinely as stoked as the guests.

5.00Swimming with wild dolphins was pure magic. Being in the water with them, incredibly close, surrounded by the most beautiful water, was honestly beyond words an experience we’ll never forget. The staff were absolutely fantastic: warm, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable, making the whole day feel safe, relaxed, and special. Booking was easy and seamless, lunch was beautifully catered, and everything ran perfectly from start to finish. If you’re even thinking about doing this, do it. Highly, highly recommend! ✨🐬

5.00This was by far the absolute best decision when deciding what to do on Australia Day. Perth Wildlife Encounters did a sensational job of providing a coach from Crown Perth to Rockingham where I had the pleasure of chatting to Crete all about the upcoming experience and what to expect. The boat itself was perfectly sized for the 11 people group for that day and I loved how organised everything was within the boat and having wetsuits, snorkels and masks provided. They explained what you should and shouldn't do really well while making it super exciting at the prospect of getting in the water and meeting these beautiful dolphins. The groups of 5 to 6 was the perfect size to slip into the water and I'm so grateful that they have under water cameras to capture the magical water dance these beautiful creatures and the guides did while we had the pleasure of watching so very close by. I'm so grateful for the lovely lunch provided plus the history about the company and the dolphins themselves. I'm so glad they talked about other experiences you can book with them because now I'm super excited to swim with the Sea Lions next! Every member was so easy to talk to and very willing to share their experiences about what it's like doing what they do, which I think is amazing! A special big thank you to Crete, Bridgette, Lauren and Aaron for everything they did that day to make this experience outstanding, not only making this the best Australia Day ever but also helping me to achieve another adventure I wanted to do as part of my '40 Before 40' list of activities. You all went above and beyond! Thank you!
Very unpleasant and costly experience

1.00The pictures look great and it all looks very wonderful and inviting - it’s not a true representation of the average day ‘swimming with dolphins’. The staff were all very lovely and enthusiastic. The experience is more like steaming up and down hoping to find the dolphins and if you find them it is a mad scramble to get everyone into the water, forming a human chain with only the your guide and maybe the first person in the chain catching a glimpse of a dolphin swimming away. Given the cost and the low chance of actually seeing a dolphin from less than 10 meters away, I must say that this is not worth it.

Unique experience with potential improvements

4.00The trip was a special experience for me and my family. The whole crew was super nice, welcoming and caring except one lady Ayla. When my dad and I got out of the water, we used the hot water hole to rinse ourselves a bit cuz it was quite cold. That lady went directly to us and took the hole from my dad’s hand saying “it’s been using too much.” We literally pumped twice and we were not the only people used them. Took facilities away from clients without reasonable explanations, especially when my dad doesn’t speak English, is quite rude and disappointing. Meanwhile, we would like to thank Ashton especially for her incredible assistance when our booking got messed up by TripAdvisor. She tried absolutely everything to secure all of us a position for this tour (BTW, if you reschedule/cancel a booked trip, make sure you contact the provider as well. Apparently TripAdvisor doesn’t notify the providers about changes and this happened twice to us on 2 different tours) As for the event itself, it was such a unique experience for all of us. However, holding each other’s belt makes it feel less free and more rushing and stressful. Compared to another similar tour we did before somewhere else, where we were just wearing safety vest and freely floating around the boat and waiting for the wild animals swam by. I wonder if this can be the same case for swimming with wild dolphins? Thanks again to the crew and Ashton for making this happen. It truly was an unforgettable experience for us.
