Experience is a long day which we were prepared for. Those other reviews that mentioned time on the bus, well you are travelling to another country so be prepared but the scenery is spectacular and makes up for it. Given the amount of time spent on the bus we expected to be given information about everything we were passing on our long journey there however our “Tour Guide” Angelo was more of a chaperone than a tour guide. Minimal information was given and we didnt even receive a brief history of the town of St Moritz. We were passing Lake Como on the way (which we recognised as we did a tour of it two days prior) but it wasnt even mentioned by our guide and instead he was busy playing solitaire on his mobile phone. On our way to St Moritz he then googled and was reading about St Moritz on wikipedia. So we did the same to educate ourselves as we were getting no information from our chaperone. He only said where we were, what time to meet back and that was it. During the way back to Milan he spent the entire time on his phone and making personal calls. The Bernina Train is once in a lifetime and is worth it alone! So a must do tour, just hope you get more information out of it than we did.

This is truly an incredible experience and one not to be missed. Our guide and driver were experts and completely professional. Loved every minute of it from the drive in the bus to the helpful lunch tips and suggestions about where to take the best photos. I would definitely recommend this tour.

It was absolutely worth it—amazing views and a really great experience. Couldn’t have asked for better views—absolutely worth every moment.

The alps are gorgeous and we were unlucky with the weather … which makes my comments more important. The train ride in the alps is only 2h30 out of the 6h of bus ride and the 1h30 of waiting around The group is limited to the one car making the viewing for people sitting aisle somewhat difficult Minimal explanation from the guide

So.. I’ll start with this, it’s definitely worth it if you’ve never been to Milan/ Italy. This is both my and my husband’s first time in Europe, so we’re going off of Viator and other websites to help plan our adventures. With that said, the internet isn’t always what it seems. There is a serious lack of communication. We opted for hotel pickup and we were promptly picked up at the advised time - great! But then we were told to get out about 10 min in and all we were told was bus. We waited around for a half hour, by ourselves, no information and no idea what bus the original driver was referring to. About 45 min later other people started showing up and about at the 50 min mark the mystical bus showed up - but no information from the driver. About an hour and a half the tour guide, who knew four languages finally showed up. If you’re from the US though, be prepared to be confused as the translation to English was mostly combined with Spanish and the guide never made any effort to speak to me and my husband; though did with everyone else. We were friendly and engaging, I truly think it was because we were from the US- sorry to say. However we weren’t going to let anything spoil our trip. There was about 2.5 hour bus ride to get from Milan to St. Moritz, with a stop in a little village outside of Lake Cuomo for food/ drink & then to Switzerland for about an hour before the train. This experience is what you make of it, and my husband and I made a good time. When it came time for the train, we were surprised that it was a regular train and not like the photo on Viator, but still, we had a wonderful time. At the end of the day, we felt safe, we knew where meeting points were and it was still a bucket list day. The communication sucked; details weren’t specified on the booking, but we had a good time. Would I recommend? Yes but I can understand certain frustrations. We read a lot of reviews before booking; I go with the mantra of different strokes for different folks so the complaints may be for some people who look for issues and the amazing reviews are for those with rose colored glasses. Overall, it was a good time. Not terrible, not out of this world, but we’re happy to have the experience. I hope this helps the next patron!
