Beat the layover blues and make the most of your time in a new city. Tailored to fit your schedule and preferences, you’ll join one of our local Sydney hosts for a personalized experience of their city. Swap airport food for dinner on the promenade or laze on Bondi Beach with all the other beautiful people while you wait. Your whistle-stop excursion will be filled with iconic sights, like the famous Sydney Opera House and Sydney Tower, or low-key haunts that city-locals love.
Within 24 hours after booking you'll receive a short questionnaire about your personality and interests. Based on your responses, you'll be assigned a like-minded host. Your host will communicate with you directly to suggest an itinerary to help you discover what makes the city unique. You will also agree on a meeting time and place. Your itinerary is flexible, so during the experience, you can always change your mind about what you want to do.

5.00The tour with City Unscripted and John Campo that I booked via Viator was incredible. John was very hospitable and provided an immersive and very comprehensive tour of the city of Sydney. I had travelled for over 24 hours but felt energized by the gorgeous views and varied paths John shared to see the Opera House and the vast beauty of the Sydney Harbour. Would recommend this to anyone who enjoys walking and a lovely and attentive host and guide. John took care to see me off at the airport and ensured I stayed safe all the way through. Very impressive and just a wow service. Thanks so very much. I want to come back and explore more after this experience. 5.00I was truly the tour "with a local: 100% personalized & private"! All thanks to my wonderful guide, Ross, I had just a perfect day in Sydney, touring around the city by public transport just like locals do. Ross was very conscientious and extremely knowledgeable on all aspects of the city. I enjoyed hearing about his family, his work before retirement and his current volunteer work, and by the end of the tour, I came to highly respect him for what he does for his country. The luxury of having a private guide also allowed me an opportunity to change plans on a whim. Prior to the tour, we had talked about visiting one of the art museums, but since it turned out to be a gorgeous day, Ross suggested that we take a ferry ride to Watsons Bay, which turned out to be an unexpectedly nice outing. All in all, I would highly recommend that you take this tour. Even if you only have several hours to visit Sydney between your flights, having a private guide will let you take in the city as if you were staying in the city for a couple of days!
