Taronga Zoo Sydney is a non-for-profit conservation society situated amongst lush bushland with harbour views. Only a short 12 minute ferry ride from the city your day at Taronga Zoo Sydney includes our iconic Seals for the Wild and Free-Flight Bird Presentation as well as keeper talks. If you'd like a more up close and personal experience, you can pay for optional animal encounters with wildlife like koalas and giraffes. 5.00We had great fun here, the tigers and lions are magnificent! You can see that they really look after their animals and have a real care. Would definitely recommend!

5.00Amazing zoo and epic encounters (Koalas). The gift shop is great and restrooms clean. Staff are friendly too.

5.00We loved this zoo. Everything was laid out nice and easy to navigate. We got to see most animals. Lots of shade but lots walking. They had a train to take you around the zoo. (Extra fee)

5.00The Sydney zoo is a must visit. The views from the zoo are stunning. They have a great array of animals. The view that the giraffes have is out of this world!

5.00Brilliant zoo! So much to see and can definitely make a full day of it here! The nocturnal animals and booking the koala experience were our favourites! Lots of lovely shade as you walk around, we went on a Sunday and it wasn’t too busy, other than the food hall which was both busy and very warm.

5.00An experience for all ages. Get a map and speak with volunteers as they will assist you make the most of your day. The bird show and seal show were standouts. Food is expensive so plan ahead. Lots of walking, shady spots to rest.

5.00A really great family day out, especially if you combine this with a boat trip across to Circular Quay. The zoo is deceptively large and you do really need a full day here. The animal shows are particularly worthwhile, educational, entertaining and a good focus on sustainability and the environment. We saw the sea-lion/seal show and also the bird show, both brilliantly presented. There are lots of public spaces where you can eat your packed lunch and fill up your water bottle. The only part we didn't enjoy was the food hall as it was absolutely packed so I would strongly recommend taking your own food. There are lots of places to grab a drink as you go round.

5.00What an amazing zoo. It’s probably the best zoo I have ever visited. We did the koala encounter which was awesome. We loved the variety of exhibits. The zoo is built on a hill overlooking Sydney harbor. I’ve never been to a zoo with escalators. It was a very enjoyable visit.
Rundown zoo - no value for money

2.00This was a complete waste of money and time in our opinion. Whilst I’m sure the zoo complies with the minimum animal welfare standards, I felt sad seeing the tiny, often grubby enclosures with animals who looked utterly bored and stuck in small spaces. Animals are entitled to rest during the day but we saw so few animals, it felt odd. The park is very poorly laid out, the maps are misleading and the biggest laugh was the ‘tiger trek/flight’ which is not a real tiger, but a strange room where some of the screens didn’t even work. Super weird! The cost of entry, a water ($9 for a bottle!!) and the rundown state of this zoo means we would not recommend to anyone. Don’t waste your money or time here.
Well worth the visit.

5.00Great experience with good talks for different animals throughout the day which gave a good insight. Buses pick you up from the ferry so saves you walking up the hill.
