A range of animal encounters can be booked on arrival at an additional cost.

Taronga Zoo

Taronga Zoo Sydney is a non-for-profit conservation society situated amongst lush bushland with harbour views. Home to over 5000 animals from 350 species it is no wonder it is Sydney’s premium location to discover wildlife from Australia and beyond. Only a short 12 minute ferry ride from the city your day at Taronga Zoo Sydney includes our iconic Seals for the Wild and Free-Flight Bird Presentation as well as keeper talks. If you'd like a more up close and personal experience, you can pay for optional animal encounters with wildlife like koalas and giraffes. Providing picnic areas and various food and beverage options a day at Taronga Zoo Sydney is one that the whole family will enjoy.

Loved the zoo, fun to see the animals, take the ferry for a fun way to get there.

Loved the zoo but dont go in the heat of the day as all the animals will be sleeping and while they are cute sleeping too, they are much more fun to see when active and running and playing.

The zoo was good plbut did seem to be in the progress of rentivating quite a few things, so it was a tad weird to navigate. I will also say this zoo is definitely not the most accessible zoo I've ever been to, if you have issues getting around you may run into issues due to the fact the zoo is all on a hill for the most part.

Visiting the Taronga Zoo was a fun experience. The exhibits were all well maintained and it is amazing how the zoo follows the natural topography of the hillside. We enjoyed seeing the animals and listening to the zookeepers presentations.

Very run down and poor signposting. Could not see any quokkas at all. Nowhere to get coffee until after 11.30 am. Difficult to find anything

The views over Sydney from all over tbe zoo are amazing. The habitats for the animals are large and well maintai ed just be aware that Viator is in USD not AUS even in Aus. This was misleading and had we known, we would have booked directly with Tarongo Zoo

This zoo has amazing views. So sad to no longer see elephants. The people at the ticket office weren’t overly friendly. Overall a great day out.

This place is going down hill fast . For instance they have built a new reptile house with about a quarter of the reptiles in there - not telling me reptiles don't do well in captivity . The lonely Koala was enough for me . More souvenir shops selling Chinese crap and cafeterias yet they preach about plastic waste - go woke go broke . Much much better 30 years ago - avoid only animal thats loves the place is the cash cows. More plastic animals than actual animals !
Very disappointed - 2/10 at max.

The worst zoo I’ve ever visited - surprised how awful it was. I have been to zoo’s all over the world and the reputation of Taronga was high. Very disappointed sadly.

Don’t waste your money. A lot of empty exhibits. Not worth your time or money or energy. I wish it was a better experience.
