Most of the time we start our tours in our office located in El Tunco beach, however, if you are not in the area, free pick up is available in La Libertad area or in San Salvador city.
Tamanique Waterfalls
We drive for about 25 minutes to get to the beautiful town of Tamanique, from here we start the hike downhills. 20 minutes later we find the very first waterfalls and start jumping/swimming.

5.00Our experience doing a private tour with Pablo was great! He was very kind and informative. He made sure everyone on the trail was safe and was having fun! He also gave us some good recommendations on where to eat! He was our guide for Tamanique and Santa Ana and we highly recommend this tour!

5.00The hike is a little challenging, but absolutely doable. The trail is well worth the effort. Reaching the waterfall to cool off in the refreshing water makes all the hard work completely worthwhile. Chamba is a great tourguide!

5.00I had an incredible experience with Tunco life. They made me feel safe and welcomed. I even jumped off a waterfall, bucket list moment checked off 😭🙏🏼🥺 Our tour guide, Chamba, was very knowledgeable and made the time fly by with fun and interesting facts about El Salvador. I can’t wait to book another tour with them 😊

5.00The hike is definitely challenging, but absolutely doable. The trail is well worth the effort. Reaching the waterfall at the end feels incredibly rewarding — and being able to cool off in the refreshing water makes all the hard work completely worthwhile.

5.00The best tour guide ever- Chamba! Such a beautiful site to see. The hike is not for the faint of heart but it was well worth it to experience the falls and all of the natural beauty.

4.00A couple key points: Despite under read more in the itinerary that you will get picked up from San Salvador that is not true. An Uber will cost you around $30 to get down to El Tunco. Hiking back up is approximately 835 feet in elevation. This is a moderate to difficult height so be prepared. We started off with 11 people going down and only four people made it back up. The other six needed to pay an additional $25 each to get picked up by a truck to get back to our tour van. Pablo was great but he definitely walks too fast. The waterfall was beautiful, I wish we could’ve spent more time there.
Do go chasing waterfalls…

5.00Pablo was exactly the type of guide you want for this hike to the waterfalls! A local, Freddy, joined us and they were both incredibly patient and thoughtful the whole hike. The hike is definitely not for beginners as there are some steep areas but most can do it. I had to take a shortcut back because i was feeling sick and was treated to quite a ride back uphill in the back of a truck - definitely going to be a core memory for me! Take a break from the beach and do this 45 minute hike - the waterfalls are worth it!
