  For a full day out, this was a surprisingly good value day out. We were picked up in time by our guide, Hassan, and the driver - and Hassan then filled a little of the journey to Taroudant with some facts & information about Morocco. First stop was a small but very picturesque cafe for a very reasonably priced drink. After this, a visit to the walls of the Medina (7km long, 130 towers … I was paying attention…) and then a tour of the souk, which was an authentic experience, and unlike the more touristy markets, extremely hassle free. There was some local bread to sample, fresh from the bakery, a visit to a souvenir shop, and the inevitable argan oil co-op (fun fact - this is obligatory in any visit to Morocco). This felt like a custom rather than an obligation on this occasion. After this, back on the bus and into a Berber village and a very generous lunch (included in the price, with spectacular views over the valley and the oasis. After lunch, a change of guide to Hamid, who took us down to the local villagers where we were encouraged to hire one of their donkeys each (for 50MaDh) to ride through the oasis (think like a really well organised allotment with extra palm trees). Back to the bus and a ride back to the hotel. Friendly people, good food, and goofy Moroccan humour. 10/10.

  It was a wonderful experience for us to go to the Medina of Taroudant to see the souk, the women cooperative showing us how argan oil is made, and the beautiful place for our stop over with lots of oranges and Morrocan architectures ( I forgot the name of the place). We also saw some goats on the argan tree along the way. We were brought to Tiout where we were introduced to another guide. We had a sumptuous lunch. The chicken tajine was so good!!! The place was also perfect for pictures. We rode the donkey which cost 50 MAD. You can also give a tip to the one leading the donkey. We stopped by the oasis to refresh ourselves. There were shops to buy drinks and souvenirs. I would encourage everyone going there to at least buy something from them because this is the only livelihood of the people in this area. Our guide was also vigilant to check if they were over pricing us. So he would check on us whenever we buy drinks. But the people there are honest. They would really return you the change. They are hoping that you give them a tip but will not demand for it. Overall, it was a wonderful experience to see the life in the desert.

  My experience has been very good, and I thank the guide who was so interesting, he tried to explain everything to us. We saw beautiful castles, palm grove, oasis and much more. Very good food in traditional restaurant and you have an optional donkey ride. Comfortable vehicle and safe driving!
