These lessons have been designed to improve your riding - whatever your age, level or ability. A small group ensures plenty of useful tips and close-quarters tuition for faster progression.
Our coaching team of fully insured and experienced instructors tailor tuition to your individual ability. Having been in-house trained by former European Number 1 and British Team Bodyboarding Coach Rob Barber, you really couldn’t be in safer hands when bodyboarding in Cornwall.

Bodyboards are smaller and lighter than surfboards; this means they’re generally easier to manoeuvre and quicker to learn on. These smaller boards, combined with a lower centre of gravity, make bodyboarding much less tiring than surfing. It’s also widely considered a much safer sport as the boards are made from foam and they avoid the sharp edges and fins synonymous with surfing. Due to the nature of bodyboarding, your lowered centre of gravity increases the feeling of speed. This means that catching even the slowest of waves will make you feel like you’re whizzing past the rest of your group in a magnificent blur! If you’re a complete beginner, we guarantee you’ll be catching your first white-water wave within the first 10 minutes of the lesson! We’ll teach you how to paddle out, trim correctly and how to select the right kind of waves for your ability. Bodyboarding is addictive to learn due to early goals being quickly attained. The initial learning curve of bodyboarding skyrockets exponentially with solid practice and time in the water. Our expert instructors will quickly progress you from broken white-water waves, to green, unbroken) waves for an unforgettable experience.

Excellent one-to-one coaching in heavy swell

5.00I had two one-to-one coaching sessions with James Nutbrown and they were incredibly valuable. The conditions were challenging with heavy swell and quite big waves, but James was calm, attentive, and really focused on helping me build both skill and confidence in the water. We worked a lot on refining the fundamentals, especially wave catching and improving my duck dive, which made a huge difference in more demanding conditions. I felt properly supported throughout. We were also joined by Amy who took photos of one session, which was such a great addition as it gave me useful footage to review afterwards. On second session she joined us in the water, and her tips, especially around landing a 360, were really helpful. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, much more effective than going out on my own, and I came away feeling more capable and with clear things to work on. I’d highly recommend James and Amy to anyone looking to progress their bodyboarding in a supportive and technical way.

5.00Went for a lesson with my nine year old son. Cannot recommend highly enough. We’ve had surf lessons before but this was different level of fun, expertise and individual detailed coaching. My (at the start very poor) bodyboarding was transformed by the brilliant Salvador. As was my son’s - and Salvador pitched the teaching at both of us differently to really help us both get better. I went from catching maybe one in ten waves to basically catching most viable waves going. (And I’m an… erm… big boned… man in his 50s!) Transformational. And just a lot of fun - really relaxed and fun atmosphere. Thank you Salvador! And also thanks for the pre-booking communication, which was excellent - especially Dan for last minute phone call. I can totally see why this place is award winning and a solid 5 stars - me and my son WILL be back for sure to get the fins on and take it to another level!

5.00Day 2 and Day 3 review with our instructor Amy. Its been an amazing 3 days and we have learnt so much, from beginners to achieving a few green waves, OMG we could never of thought we would of done this, Amy is the best, she taught us at our own comfort level and the knowledge we go away with to continue our bodyboarding journey.Thank you so much.

5.00Awesome day one learning to Bodyboard. Amy was a great patient teacher, worked at our pace. Learned so much of what we have been doing wrong. After the lesson we went out for another 3 hours to practice. Looking forward to Day 2 tomorrow. Many thanks Amy and Newquay Acrivity Centre

5.00Had a fantastic experience bodyboarding for the first time with James as an instructor. I was a complete beginner and he was very friendly, knowledgeable and felt safe going out with him. Well priced at £60 as this included hire of wetsuit, board and use of showers, changing rooms and lockers. Would definitely go again and would be fantastic to have James as instructor again!

5.00Had an amazing time with James as our instructor. He was very friendly, very informative. Started with safety training followed by technique then we were given plenty of time to enjoy being in the water and he was always able to advise where we could improve. He was also very knowledgeable about where to find further information after our lesson, renting kit, finding the best beaches at the right time for body boarding etc. would highly recommend.

5.00Great experience. Sasha is a superstar. We had a brief lesson on the sand and then straight into the sea to catch some waves. I got some top tips. Everyone in the company is lovely.

5.00My son & I had 2 days booked which consisted of a Bodyboarding lesson on Tuesday with Ellie & the Coasteer/SUP/snorkelling the next day with Rosie. Both the girls were excellent. Patient, helpful, knowledgeable and full of interesting facts which I loved! Safety briefing was very indepth and this helped the sessions go off without any hiccups. My son, 17, loved it as did I. GS
