Your driver/guide will take you on an interesting journey through the different aspects of life in Tauranga. From the forming of the landscape, the arrival of man and the founding of the city, through to the different produce grown in the province and what modern life is like in the area. Departing from the port gates you will travel through Mount Maunganui township past Mauao the iconic landmark mountain and one of New Zealand’s most popular beaches "The Mount Main Beach" home of surfing, professional beach volleyball and surf lifesaving competitions.

Tauranga

Crossing over the Tauranga harbour bridge you will go through the Port of Tauranga and hear about how industry has shaped Tauranga to be the busiest port in New Zealand and see stunning views of the harbour and Matakana Island. In Tauranga you will see some of the earliest European settlement buildings in New Zealand, beautiful gardens and hear about the settlement of Maori and Europeans in the Bay of Plenty, creating the city of Tauranga as it is today.

Tauranga is very nice. However, the tour spent too long driving out of the harbor, going to a park, driving by parked containers from ships. The stop at a beach was nice, but really short. It was a nice sunny breezy. There was another stop at a park that overlooked the harbor. The most interesting stop was at the Kiwi farm.

Great!! Russell was so informative and friendly. The kiwi/avscado tasting 8n the kiwi orchard that he set up, was just the best!

Went on this tour from cruise ,instructions on where to meet were clear and was close to port . Our guide Russell was very knowledgeable on the history of the area.we had a good ,and the kiwi tasting at the farm was a highlight Would highly recommend this tour

We had a great four hours. 8 people on the bus and our guide from Wicked Wanders, Russell Christian made it a fun tour out. He was Knowledgeable and interesting. The kiwi and avocado tasting was enjoyable. A must if you want a few hours sightseeing the Tauranga area.

Very interesting, lots of history. Guide certainly knows his stuff. Russell was fun and gave us plenty of time in each stop to do photos and absorb the atmosphere.
