The Terracotta Army is the most significant archeological excavation of the 20th century and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The large collection of life-size terra cotta sculptures in battle formations represent the imperial guard troops of Emperor Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of the first unified dynasty of Imperial China.
Visit the three pits where the warriors are on display , where you can discover one of the most extraordinary features of the terracotta warriors: each warrior appears to have distinct features, an incredible feat of craftsmanship and production.

The Museum of Qin Terracotta Warriors and Horses, also known as the Terracotta Army.There were more than thousands terracotta soldiers unearthed here, each with a different facial expression. Standing before the massive underground army, you will feel the extraordinary might of the Qin Emperor that enabled him to unify six warring states two thousand years ago. The Qin Emperor Ying Zheng began building the mausoleum for himself at the age of 13. Nearly 720000 men and 38 years were required to complete this vast project.

5.00Booking process is easy and smooth. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Communication was great. Plus, the english tour guide we had in china was fantastic! Our tour was on 9th April. He was very knowledgeable and have had many years experience. At the end of the tour he also showed us a restaurant with good variety of authentic Xi'an food, and we had lunch there. We had great experience. Thanks to Viator staff and our tour guide giving us a happy visit in Xi'an.

5.00Excellent tour! Wangkai was our guide and he was very knowledgeable about the Terracotta warriors and their history. He helped us navigate the large crowds and ran the tour at a good pace, focusing on the important parts. I would definitely recommend Wangkai and this tour, thanks for teaching us the culture and history!

4.00Seeing the Terracotta Warriors with Mia our guide was well worth it. Mia was very informative giving us little tidbits of information that we would not have known otherwise. All in all a very worthwhile experience again be prepared for a lot of people but that’s nothing new in China

5.00We were incredibly lucky to have Wangkai as our guide at the Xi’an Terracotta Warriors Museum. With more than 30 years of experience, his knowledge was extraordinary—rich in history, detail and insight, and delivered with such clarity and passion that the site truly came alive for us. What made the experience especially memorable, though, was Wangkai’s kindness and attentiveness beyond the tour itself. He helped us thoughtfully when choosing jade and arranging the carving of my Chinese name, taking care to explain meanings and traditions along the way. When we mentioned how disappointed we were that we were leaving Xi’an just before the snow, he went above and beyond—later sending us a video of the snowfall so our son could experience it too. It was such a thoughtful, generous gesture and completely unexpected. Wangkai didn’t just guide us through a world-famous site; he made our time in Xi’an feel personal, warm and unforgettable. He truly made the experience all the more enjoyable and meaningful, and we would recommend him without hesitation to anyone visiting the Terracotta Warriors.

3.00The Terracotta Warriors themselves were incredible to see and absolutely worth visiting. However, the tour experience could have been smoother. Our guide repeated the same information several times, which made the tour feel a bit drawn out and left us thinking a self-guided visit might have been just as good. We also had difficulty finding our guide at the start — there were no clear instructions on where to meet, and we waited over 30 minutes before finally being contacted. Clearer communication and better organization would have made a big difference.
