This is a must-do if you come to Taipei. Our tour guide, Garen, was amazing! She took us to great spots around Dongmen Market and Yongkang Street. She was very welcoming and knowledgeable. The food selection was excellent, and we got a good glimpse of how people in Taiwan live. Highly recommended—especially if you’re a foodie!

My friend and I wanted to go to and eat at a Night Market in Taipei, but if we had not had the perfect guide, Kate, we would not have felt a part of the fun and energy of the market. Kate took us to 3 intersecting Night Markets in the Longshan Temple area. She took us through the very old and beautiful temple and explained the religion and practices we saw around us. Then we walked more of the neighborhood to the bustling markets listening to her stories. The markets were full of families and friends and Kate explained more about her neighborhood while taking us to the most phenomenal food stalls that we would have missed on our own…pumpkin rice noodle buns, fried sweet potato balls, fried rice noodles with garlic, scallion cakes to name a few. Without Kate, we would have been overwhelmed by all the food stalls and action and would probably not bought anything. She gave us an inside look and a unique Taiwanese experience in this very special neighborhood which is something we will never forget!

Garen was our tour guide and she was exceptional. We tried so many new foods and saw all local establishments, each delicious. We also learned so much about Taiwan. Highly recommend the tour AND the country.

An amazing experience!! Eva was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience feel like exploring the city with a local friend. We left full, happy, and with a much deeper appreciation for Taiwanese food culture. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Taipei.

My experience with Garen Chan was superb. We visited eateries for food & desserts that are authentic to Taiwan. In addition Garen was very articulate about Taiwan 🇹🇼 history.

Wow, what an experience! Garen was communicative from the very start, making it easy to locate the start point and checking on dietary needs etc well in advance. She knew all the most authentic spots and made it feel really special and unique. The best part, besides the amazing food, was how everything we ate tied into the history of either the food or the island- often both! If you love food this is for you. If you love history this is for you. If you love seeing a city through a local’s eyes, this is for you. I can’t recommend Garen and this tour highly enough!

Fantastic tour I must do to anyone visiting and wanting a full spectrum of food from Taiwan. June was an absolute delight and extremely knowledgeable. Would love to take the tour again. We were so full.

Judy was lovely and we had a lovely few hours with her. She introduced us to lots of things but also adapted things based on our likes and what we had already tried. She answered all our questions and gave us lots of information. By the end we were totally stuffed!

We had an amazing food tour in Taipei with Garen! Not only did we taste a variety of delicious local dishes, but we also learned so much about the rich history and culture of Taiwan along the way.
