Proceed to the Temple of Literature, an ancient complex paying homage to Confucius with courtyards, gardens, and architecture. Dating back almost a millennium, it is considered Vietnam's oldest university. Savour lunch at a restaurant specializing in traditional Hanoi delicacies.
Follow your guide through the Quarter's 36 streets, each historically named for its products. Explore the remaining streets still selling goods of their namesake, like Tin and Bamboo Street.
Traverse labyrinthine back alleys off the tourist trail, experiencing authentic Hanoi. Peer into temples and traditional houses, hear tales of the ancient city, and meet locals. Conclude the guided walk with a robust Vietnamese coffee at a cafe; overlooking Hoan Kiem Lake - a symbol of Vietnamese folklore. Head to Ngoc Son Temple on the lake's tiny island.
