We headed to Garcia Grottoes, passing the Cumbres Residence Area, west of Monterrey.
Grutas de Garcia
We will take the cable car to the top of the mountain and take a tour inside the Caves, lasting one hour, walking 2 kilometers and discovering the stalactites and stalagmites, as well as all the wonders of the underwater world and other whimsical figures and shapes of nature inside the mountain.

5.00Family had a great time visiting Grutas de Garcia and the town of Garcia. Our guide Hector was very friendly, with great knowledge of all aspects of the grutas. Will definitely recommend him for a tour. Big plus that he picked us up at the hotel we were staying rather than having to meet downtown.

5.00We had a private guide and traveled about an hour from Monterrey to Grutas de García. The telerifico was very safe and the caves were really beautiful. You should be prepared to go up and down a lot of stairs (my watch said 8 flights) but it wasn't overtaxing. After the tour we went to the nearby town of Garcia. We visited a historical bakery. Bring pesos to buy a treat! I wish we could have stayed for lunch at a local restaurant but it wasn't included in the tour. If I had know ahead, I would have combined this with the Horsetail Falls tour at the other end of the valley for a full day. This is an excellent day trip to get close to nature and the mountains. Our guide was fluent in English and answered all of our questions.
