Imagine yourself kayaking in the crystal blue waters surrounding the Most Easterly Point of Australia spotting dolphins, humpback whales (from May to Oct) and turtles. This kayak trip is suitable for most levels of fitness, is easy and it lots of fun!
We embark on our ocean sea kayak tour from Clarke's Beach in Byron Bay paddling across the Bay towards Cape Byron. At Wategos Beach , situated just under the historic Cape Byron Lighthouse there is a residential pod of Pacific Bottle-nose Dolphins. We enter their habitat and usually have the privilege of seeing these beautiful marine mammals free from captivity in their own environment.
Go Sea Kayak Byron Bay is owned and operated by long term local surf lifesaver and World Title Surf Ski Medallist Kurt Tutt. Our staff are all trained Surf Lifesavers and will take the best of care of you.

Remember: we run on NSW Daylight Savings time between Oct and April each year

Not recommended for people with phobias, poor physical fitness or chronic lower back injuries
Mother Nature dictates the day - everyday is different on the Bay, we will do our best to find all sorts of wildlife for you.
Should conditions be dangerous: We conduct risk assessments of conditions several times per day. If the ocean is too dangerous from things like string winds, stingers or large surf we will contact you to cancel. In this case you are entitled to a full refund, don't worry we don't take your money. Sometimes you are just better off not going then being out there in unnecessary danger
We do run the tours in the rain, you get wet anyway whether it's sunny or raining.
In winter we have wetsuits for you to put on before the tour to keep you warm
We use Tandem ( 2 person) Sit on Top Kayaks
No refunds or free swaps are available for those arriving late. In Summer we run on NSW Daylight Savings time, QLD does not run on this time
Not Recommended for people who suffer from phobias of water
Not recommended for people who suffer from motion sickness
Not recommended for people suffering the effects of alcohol abuse

5.00Booked this in advance. Got super lucky with the sea state and was super calm. Meant for super easy paddling. Probably should have gotten there 15-30 minutes before the scheduled time as was the last to arrive. The kit was all good. The guides were great. Good Comms. Good banter. Hearded the group well without being upset. We had a small 8 kayak ish group. I was with Laurie who had done the trip Friday but not seen much and had a rebook. A quick brief and we were underway. Great mix between getting some distance done and resting/watching for sea life. A few turtle heads spotted early in the distance. Paddled around the corner to spot multiple small pods of dolphins. This started an hour or excellent encounters some 10ft away some 50ft. Guides were great at slowly getting close without spooking and the group were all well behaved and didn't chase. Stopped for a swim on the way back. Lost a few pairs of glasses between the group. Happy people all round.

5.00Awesome experience. Saw dolphins and a turtle. The dolphins even swam right under the boat - really cool. The guides were great too, funny as anything and informative too. Would highly recommend!

5.00Outstanding tour!!! Kayaking out to watch dolphins was an amazing experience. Additionally, Byron Bay was really picturesque location. The guides really made it the complete package with their humor and informative discussion about the dolphins in the bay.

5.00An amazing adventure across the waves at main beach Byron Bay! having never done sea kayaking before our 2 guides made us feel relaxed and excited about the trip and had so much information and stories to tell. A bargain for 2 1/2 hours taking in the fabulous views from the ocean across to Mt Warning (Wollumbin) and the coast of Bungalung country, out to Julian rocks and Wategoes Beach what a treat ! We really enjoyed the song with our guides that brings the dolphins and whales to us that the local Arakwal custodians have shared with them., We saw rays skim across the water and a very inquisitive turtle and lots of fish .A small group created a really lovely atmosphere and great for making new friends .Celebrating my 70th birthday with my daughter was just magical and the guides made sure we were safe and supported . Don't miss out on experiencing Byron from the water I highly recommend this trip! and can't wait to go again during the whaling season.

5.00Amazing experience. The guides were super friendly, informative of the wildlife, ocean and area. They were also very helpful! On my tour we saw dolphins turtles and sharks ! Couldn’t recommend them enough

5.00BEAUTIFUL....an absolute must if you're heading to Byron Bay. Pete and the guides are awesome...we saw turtles and a leopard shark but just floating on the water and taking in the beauty was just a special. Thanks Pete & the team...we will be back!!!

5.00This was incredible! Beau our guide and his time were excellent. Great pre session dos and don’ts - safety was key they really did look out for you. Knowledge of wildlife area excellent and we got a double treat, saw the dolphins on way in and out, they came really close. Crowd size perfect. Cost worth it. All in all can not fault the tour and highly recommend it. Thanks guys

5.00Sunrise tour was incredible - we had a small group, spotted dolphins, and the views were unreal. Watching the sun rising up with the lighthouse towering the cliffs was absolutely spectacular. Highly recommend. Luke was fantastic!
