A chocolate experience to remember!

See and touch the fruit of the chocolate tree, and learn all about how the beans are transformed into delicious chocolate.

Have fun making your own Scottish-themed chocolate to take home! You can even make a chocolate Greyfriar's Bobby, a chocolate Nessie or a chocolate Edinburgh Castle!

Next, come to the tasting room with a wide selection of chocolates from both Scottish and international chocolate makers. There are over 30 varieties to choose from including Haggis chocolate, Japanese chocolate, chilli chocolate, gin chocolate and many, many more.

Finally, wrap your delicious chocolates to take home to enjoy or give as a gift.

Chocolate samples are provided throughout the tour. Vegan or milk-free options are available.

Suitable for adults and children aged 6+.

If you love chocolate, this is the tour for you! Kelly was informative and fun and made the experience interesting and entertaining at the same time. A great tour for all ages.

This might have been my favourite part of the trip. It’s great value and very educational. Our guide was Coco (who said this is in fact her real name). She was fantastic: very knowledgable, funny and engaging. We started off by drinking a hot chocolate while we learnt a bit more about where chocolate comes from and how it’s sourced. We then moved to the preparation room where we got to crush a bean and were talked through the process in detail around how chocolate is made. We then picked a mould and could make our own chocolate bar (out of milk or dark chocolate). There was also a wide range of toppings we could use to create our bars, ranging from chocolate drops, marshmallows, honeycomb, raspberry etc Whilst that was cooling we moved to the tasting room where Coco talked us through the history of chocolate while we tasted chocolate from different parts of the world. We then had the opportunity to go and select different types of chocolate to taste. There was a wide variety so it was hard to choose! I definately had a good crack at trying as many as I could though. At the end we got given our chocolate bars to take home! This was a fantastic afternoon, great value, very tasty, and I learnt a lot of interesting facts about chocolate. Coco was brilliant! 10/10!

We had a fantastic experience at The Chocolatarium in Edinburgh. The tour was fun, interactive, and delicious from start to finish! Rohail was an excellent guide, friendly, knowledgeable, and full of energy. He made the experience entertaining while also teaching us so much about chocolate making and tasting. Highly recommended this experience.
Definitely go! So much fun!

Great! So much fun, Rafa was amazing! We had a great day. Making the chocolate was really good but the tasting room was my favourite part!

I loved everything about this tour! It was not only informative about the making of chocolate, but you got to make your own chocolate bar, and sample so many different types of chocolates! Our tour guide, Monica, was awesome as well. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Edinburgh. You really don’t want to miss this!

Had a fabulous time at the Chocolatarium in Edinburgh this morning. The ‘experience’ lasts 90-minutes. Your guide tells you about the history of chocolate and how it is made. Our guide Fraser was fabulous - friendly, informative with bad jokes 😺 You get to taste a lot of artisan and popular chocolate (no Whittakers regrettably) and you get to make a bar. Just awesome. Highly recommended. It’s 5-minutes from Waverley train station.

Very cool and you get lots of chocolate tastings. The first thing is a history lesson on cacao with a liquid chocolate sample and I found it really informative. Then there was the chocolate bar making which went through the process and allowed us to make our own chocolate bars with whatever flavors we wanted. Then there was more history but with chocolate samples to go with it and a sample wall where you can taste whatever you like. I enjoyed it all.
Super cool experience making our own candy bar and learning about chocolate!

Very informative experience discussing the history of chocolate and how it is made. We tried the best hot chocolate ever, as well as samples of other chocolates, then we made our own candy bar to take home from various molds. We thoroughly enjoyed it!

Coco was the one showing us around and she was very enthusiastic and made it very fun to learn about chocolate. Making our own chocolate was also really exciting and the tasting room at the end was a nice finish with all the different kinds of chocolate to try
