Dores
You leave Inverness and follow the Caledonian Canal to the source of the River Ness. Your guide takes you down the road less travelled to Dores, on the eastern side of the loch. This tiny village boasts a beach with the most striking vista of Loch Ness and the Great Glen rift valley. Get your camera ready for your first photos of the mysterious waters and potential monster sightings before you continue your journey.

5.00Really nice trip around Loch Ness and along the river. Liam was a great guide and kept us informed and entertained about the towns and areas we were visiting. We always had enough time and I never felt rushed, but we got to see a lot (especially considering the short days in December). Exploring Urquhart castle and the boat ride on the loch were definitely worth it (this is an optional part of the trip), and Liam made sure we knew where we were going, and was right there to pick us up.
Timely, historical. Beautiful vistas with plenty of photo opportunities.

5.00Kev was the best tour guide. He was knowledgeable and his love for his homeland was evident. We so appreciated his insights and knowledge. The vehicle was comfortable. The stops gave a good overview of the Loch area.

5.00Our experience with Rabbie’s was already positioned for success, but Elith elevated it into a full end-to-end premium journey. The group size was comfortably small which kept the coach peaceful, but the real differentiator was Elith’s operational excellence and customer-centric service ethos. From the outset she demonstrated world-class duty of care. While other tour guides around us seemed rushed or disengaged, she actively ensured our group entered queues safely and cohesively. Inside the coach she kept the atmosphere energised with clever puns and high-value storytelling. Her commentary wasn’t opinion driven. It was a seamless fusion of factual insights, local legends, and Scotland’s greatest hits especially when debunking the myths around Nessie. She championed inclusivity by checking the coach temperature, monitoring timekeeping, and giving courtesy calls when guests were late. It was proactive service management at its finest. Her driving was confident and efficient which maximised our time at each stop without compromising safety. On top of that she delivered tailored recommendations that genuinely enhanced our itinerary. What stood out most was her passion for Scotland. It wasn’t just a job for her. It was national pride in motion and it made the entire experience feel premium, authentic, and memorable. And here is another big win for Rabbie’s. If you visit the Rabbies website, you’ll see that every single aspect of the tour is mapped out and beautifully structured. You know exactly where you are going, complete with photos, timings, and clear expectations. As someone who is both anxious and a meticulous planner, this level of transparency gave me total peace of mind. It reduced the mental load and let us simply enjoy the journey. My husband and I would highly recommend this. The ticket price was worth every penny. Rabbie’s has a true asset in Elith. She is superb, high performing, and absolutely deserves a raise. She embodies everything a modern tour guide should be.

5.00Helen was a fountain of knowledge anecdotes and fun . Her love for the Scottish highlands and nature is apparent. In short she was great .

3.00Fast food type. Except the guide, French lady called Camille, has to improve her professional caliber. In addition to leaving the group without support and backing on boarding the cruise by Lake Ness, every information given was alluded to the husband, which brought a complicated homemade tone and unprofessional to the tour proposal. The passage through the points to take pictures was abrupt and hasty. In addition, the guide's attempt to show sympathy was pifia.
