  Excellent tour. Our guide, Gray, tought us a lot of new information about tokyo. Sex workers exist all over the world and we learned about how the workers get around the laws.

  Our tour guide was Grey. So entertaining, knowledgeable and fun to do the tour with. Learnt so much about the area and had lots of humorous moments. Definitely worth doing. A very enjoyable tour with a great guide.

  Gray was an amazing tour host. She was lovely, sweet and incredibly well-versed on showing us the tour. She made sure that we did see the dark-side of Tokyo, and was very respectful while she talked about it and showed us. So it was VERY well worth us taking the tour!   Unfortunately our experience of this tour was that it didn’t live up to its name; our guide Huy did not seem equipped to handle the subject matter with any degree of charisma, expertise or nuance. If you want to hear about the red light district and LGBT scene in Shinjuku from someone with seemingly extremely limited experience of either, this might be for you, but otherwise expect a pretty stereotypical and derogatory take on the subjects. Full disclosure, we did bail halfway through after the guide doubled down on the insistence that the women working in the adult industry are all vapid and unintelligent, so perhaps he really pulls it together at the end, but I think you’d learn more about the dark side of Tokyo from speaking to one of those women for 10 minutes than from this whole tour

  It was a fun opportunity to learn about the seedy side of Shinjuku. The guide was knowledgeable and fun. He concluded the tour in a beautiful Shinto temple.

  Guide Gray, was interesting. Had sometimes gotten a little too involved with a constantly asking American woman. So we stood around more. Otherwise interesting tour with lots of background information and tips for the exit

  I learned a lot on the tour. Gray was a good tour guide. You just can’t get that info walking thru the neighborhood on your own as nothing is in English. The only glitch we had was that we could not find the tour meeting point which was supposed to be at a police box. I was looking for a telephone box. I finally had to ask someone.

  Our guide, Syu, was great! Very informative, answered our questions, great explanations, made sure we understood about the various areas he took us to. He also made sure all participants were accounted for every time we moved to a new location.
