This one‑of‑a‑kind small‑group tour transforms Boston’s iconic Freedom Trail into a complete, scholar‑crafted narrative of the American Revolution — taking you from the city’s founding all the way to Independence. Rather than offering disconnected highlights, this experience helps you grasp the real story behind America’s revolutionary origins by weaving Boston’s sites, people, and turning points into one immersive, chronological journey.
You’ll not only see famous landmarks like Paul Revere’s House, the Old North Church, Faneuil Hall, and the Granary Burying Ground, but also understand how the Sons of Liberty, the Boston Massacre, the Tea Party, the Midnight Ride, Lexington & Concord, and Bunker Hill all fit together. The content is as entertaining as it is educational, so you learn without ever feeling taught.
The route is curated and comfortable, and we take the time to do justice to both modern Boston and its historic, world‑changing legacy as a living whole.

Boston City Hall
We meet at the heart of the city — the exact site of Boston's founding — directly across from Faneuil Hall. While the group gathers, your guide introduces the neighborhoods you'll explore using original historical maps, giving you a clear picture of the city before it became the city. By the time we set off, you'll already understand something most visitors never do: why the American Revolution didn't JUST happen in Boston, but why it could ONLY have happened here.
King's Chapel Burying Ground
Who were the Pilgrims? Who were the Puritans? What were they running from, and what were they running toward? At Boston's oldest burying ground, we uncover the people who first settled Massachusetts Bay and the convictions they carried with them.
A curated, chronological journey that delivers real understanding — not just random sightseeing
Small group, Best of Boston award‑winning, expert historians — always fun, never a lecture
Go beyond the Freedom Trail: trace the full story from Boston’s founding to Independence

Rob did a wonderful job of explaining everything as a story. It flowed and was easy to understand. This is definitely for anyone interested in history, not just the fun stuff.

We spent 5 days touring Boston and this was, hands down, our favorite experience! No kidding. It topped the aquarium, bus tours and even the art museum. The tour guide is incredibly knowledgeable and was able to field all of our questions as we walked. On a side note, our 18yo daughter (jaded by social media ‘news’) is a fact-checker hobbyist. She dug deeper into a number of things when we got back to the hotel and was impressed by the accuracy. (Surprisingly, the bus tour perpetuated several inaccuracies and wives tales!) The walk was easy, even for the duration. Inside tips for restaurants and local attractions were helpful, even though they are not officially part of the tour. We appreciated that the tour group is kept small. The smaller size allowed for a more intimate experience, easy dialogue and the ability to accommodate the needs of individuals (like walking at the pace of slowest person and stepping inside a building for a moment to warm up while he talked about the massacre.) He also does a wonderful job of ‘setting the scene’, really walking us through the history and growing tensions that led up to the revolution. You really get to know these historical figures! Highly recommend! I would honestly like to do the same tour again to hear slight variations in the script, so to speak.
