We from Awa Salu Kiteboarding Curacao, offer you premium, high quality kite lessons. We are looking out for you with a high focus on technique and safety.

We are located at the A-spot for kiteboarding on the mainland of Curaçao at the St. Joris bay. Before and after your lessons you can get the tips and watch the tricks of the local kiteboarder in their habitat.

The water is both shallow and deep, for practicing all aspects of kiteboarding. For the more advanced courses we practice walking the kite and launching and landing the kite on land.

Wondering if kiteboarding is for you? Learning to kiteboard is like learning to drive a car. A kid could learn it. After a couple of lessons, you will get the hang of it and go as slow or fast, high or low as you want to go.

During this one week course you will transform into a kiteboarder. You will understand the kite, know how to safely land and launch the kite, ride, turn, make basic safety assessments and more skills. Before and after your lessons you can get the tips and watch the tricks of the local kiteboarder in their habitat.

Best way to spend my birthday! Kim took great care of me - we started with some skill refreshers and then proceeded to kite across the gorgeous bay! I struggled a bit in the beginning, but with her expert guidance, I was zipping around in no time! 10/10 would learn with Awa Salu again!

Kim is a fantastic instructor!! I can recommend her to anyone. I had lessons from her myself but my son of 9 years old also taught them. Her instruction is short and clear. What I really like about her is that she always goes in the water. This allows her to immediately see where you still need improvement. In addition, Kim is a fantastic fun girl!!

Kim's a great teacher. Keeping it light hearted whist not allowing bad habits to creep in. "Hands a body like a Pro!" Thoroughly recommended!

Super kite school, I could already do a bit of kite riding and I wanted to learn to jump. Kim taught me that in 1 lesson, totally awesome!

What a beautiful island !!!!!!!!!, the weather, the beaches and people with lots of sympathy and kindness..... The center is particularly beautiful and when you think it's all cute, you get to the western beaches, it becomes amazing......
Kim stands head and shoulders above it as a teacher!

Really had a top kite lesson from Kim! I could already sail back and forth, but she gave me a lot of little tips that made my transitions (little turns) successful + my first jump (little jump). Have taken classes before, but Kim stands out!!

Awa Salu Kiteboarding gets my highest recommendation! I reached out to Kim and I knew from the start she was very professional, knowledgeable and fun. I had taken a few lessons before, but Kim taught me new theory and new skills and above all made the lessons so much fun. She gave me confidence to continue and hopefully I will be back soon!!

In 5 lessons learn kiteboarding. Docent: Kim is very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and teaches you at your pace. Had a fantastic time here and a new friend! Can recommend it very highly to anyone. Thanks Awa Salu, see you next year!

Kim is the best, full stop. Aside from being a fantastic teacher, she was incredibly helpful, flexible and communicative about everything leading up to our classes, and her excitement about me making very minor improvements day-by-day was really infectious and made the entire experience that much more fun. She knew exactly how to use the fact that I had surfing/wakeboard/practice kite experience, which was really nice, and she was so patient with me forgetting everything constantly. She has sunglasses/croakies, sun shirts, and all the gear included and ready and goes through all the steps of understanding the gear and not just how to use the kite/ride, which was great for making me feel more confident. Sint Joris is a calm bay and an excellent place to learn (and incredibly easy to get back to shore). She helped set up a car and pickup/dropoffs for me, and everything was well worth the price. I cannot recommend her enough and hope to take more classes with her soon! Just a note that she prefers cash and most ATMs charge flat rate $10USD per transaction so set aside your USD beforehand. Stop by Kuminda Surinam on the way back to Willemstad. You'll probably swallow a little more awa salu (salt water) than you bargained for, but it's worth it.

Awa Salu is a very good kite school located on the St. Joris bay Curaçao, ideal conditions for novice kiters due to the low water. We took duo lessons with Kim for a few months and that was very educational, made a lot of progress, but above all very nice! She can kite very well, is always cheerful, patient and very reliable. Thank you for the nice time Kim and good luck!
